AMIC numbers are based on 75 year old grandmother driving
EPA numbers are based on real world Porsche driving.
Who here buys a Taycan to drive 55 mph in the granny lane?
A Taycan is made to be driven hard.

When I optioned out my Turbo S to what I wanted I was at $230K. It made me think, do I pay $230K for the Taycan or do I order the $200K Tesla Roadster, plus some options for let's say the same $230K?
I suspended my order. I don't know what to do.
Looking for some opinions to help me decide.
No. About the same. In real life Carmine Red is hideous in my opinion. There is no way that car at the Frankfurt Show was Carmine Red. They painted it another red for the show. Had to be.
The Founders Series is $250K. The non-Founders series is $200K. $200K will get you the base model, with all that mind-blowing performance. And it will not be a stripped down car. Options like autonomous, and SpaceX Air Thursters will push the price higher. Most people would opt not to take...
All this will soon be irrelevant. The new Tesla Roadster will have 620 mile range, 1.9 s 0-60, 8.8s 1/4 mile and top speed over 250 mph and 4 seats (back ones are small). It will be available in 2020 just like the Taycan for $200K - not much more than a Taycan.

Yes I understand that, but if the car alone is drawing 100 amps, that leaves only 60 amps for the rest of the house while the car is charging. I brought it up because those of us who use a lot of electricity could have an issue if the car is drawing 100 amps. Might need to increase the main...
22KW at Home? You do realize what size circuit breaker you will need right? 22,000W/240V = 92 amp breaker, round up to 100 amp. Good luck with that.
For 9.6KW you need a 40amp breaker
Yes, was studying two Porsches in natural light over the weekend. The Carmine Red is simply not a nice red. Period. If the red was as it appeared under the Frankfurt Show lights then that is what I would have ordered. So white it will be for me.
They are afraid to show it in natural light because Carmine Red does not look good on the Taycan. It looked fabulous under the Frankfurt Show lights (like Ferrari Red) but outside, please gag me. A brighter red would look better. I might spring for the extra $10K or so and have it painted...
The Taycan looks hideous in Carmine Red. Looks great in Guards Red we saw at the Frankfurt Show, but you cannot buy it in Guards Red, only the hideous Carmine Red
If you buy now, you will not get the fastest charging possible. Porsche was not able to deliver on its promise.....yet:

I hear the Taycan at the Frankfurt show was Guards Red, not Carmine Red. Not sure why they would present it that way, unless Guards Red will be available in Germany/Europe, but not North America
I have seen word Porsche light up blue in the tail light in several photos. Does anyone know if this is standard on the Taycan or is it included in some option?
Is it just me, or are we getting different colors for the Taycan here in the USA?
When I try to configure my Taycan on the Porsche website, and I pick the only red option, it comes up as a dark ugly red vs. what I see on stage at the Frankfurt Auto Show.
Some of the other colors on the...
