I use individual setting. Set the dampers to performance and the highest available level. Seems to work. On very high bumps I also raise the car extra using the manual "button" on the instrument cluster. With the sport chrono button a quick switch of the button to individual sets the sittness...
I live in Norway and there really is no competition between ICE cars and EV cars. ICE cars are about twice the price here compared to the rest of the world due to taxes. EV's have no tax or VAT (yet) so they are much cheeper. What also points in the direction of EV's is that optional extras...
The only issue is that you don't really know what you get with the Porsche and therefore may not choose that option. If the car configurator had more useful information, I bet a lot more people would chose more of the good options. I almost didn't select the InnoDrive as the dealer had no clue...
The car has to know a driver is in control, touching/moving the steering wheel. I drive with hands resting on the wheel when InnoDrive is active. This applies to all current "self driving" options in cars. The politicians have not yet given approval for self driving cars so all systems need the...
I use it mostly in traffic. In queues, when not able to really drive the car as it should be driven. Activate Innodrive and it follows the queue, stop, start, turning. You can sit back and enjoy the view with a hand on the wheel and it drives itself :)
The cars and brands are not comparable at all. I've owned the Tesla Model S p85DL and 3P and driven a lot of new teslas as those have been serviced.
Actually my heart burns for the 911 but here in Norway the Taycan is about 1/2 the price of the 911 (Taycan 4S vs 911 4S) and when you get 4...
For reading information from the car. Fault codes (reading and resetting) and general technical information from the car. It is what Porsche techs use on other Porsches and supposedly the Taycan as well.
Curious as I am, I tried connecting a Elm327 WiFi device to the OBDII port in the Taycan. Needless to say that didn’t work. It gets power and starts the WiFi but apps are not able to read values.
I’ve since read that some new Porsches do not use the standard signal pinout for the Elm327...
Spot on with my experience. I come from a Tesla P85DL and lastly the Tesla 3P.
Regarding the innodrive, it works pretty much like Autopilot in the Teslas. The Autopilot too sets speed wrongly according to speed limits, just as the Taycan.
My 2 cents:
Disable the speed-adjust on InnoDrive (in...
In short it is almost like Tesla Autopilot, only a lot better. If that says anything.
With InnoDrive you can enable/disable quite a few options:
- Active Lane assist (self steering)
- Speed assist (keeps track of speed limits and does its best to keep them)
- Planning for traffic and road ahead...
I actually just tested innodrive in a city. It recognizes roundabouts and crossings, so I didn’t have to break or touch the throttle at all while going trhrough.
Without innodrive the cars somewhat steers within the lines but only vaguely. More like a warning when you’re about to cross the lines. With innodrive it follows the road much better as well as adjusting speed towards corners. It is also supposed to know what happens 3km ahead of you, not that...
Not comparing them other than that all Taycans have overboost function. From my experience both 4S and Turbo act alike. A gentle throttle gives less power than slamming it to the floor. It seems overboost is activated that way, not only during launch.
The temp was 10 degrees celcius. Though I tested it all with PSM all off and with some inspired driving tires seemed to grip very good. Both in corners, breaking and accelleration. "Butt dyno" kind of aggrees with the numbers. The kick at 55-60km/h is actually harder than from 0 with launch.
If...
A small comparison of Taycan InnoDrive vs Tesla Autopilot
With driving Tesla's daily since 2015 using Autopilot from v1 to v2.5 I must say I am surprised as to how good the Porsche InnoDrive actually is! It is miles better than the Autopilot feature from Tesla.
The biggest difference is the...
I've been tryin to get to know my Taycan 4S and last night I went for a short test-drive to get more feel with the car.
Since I got the car about 3 weeks ago I've been feeling the engine power is somewhat unpredictable. Sometimes it seems quick, sometimes less so. So last night I turned on the...
