First high speed charging experience (350kW) in Vancouver BC Area. (feat. Petro-Canada)

I was at 7% and hit a 350Kw station, I was at 35% by the time I got my order in at the adjoining McDonalds, about 55% by the time my happy meal arrived, and 100% by the time I was back to the car. Crazy fast, and completely alleviated my range anxiety for long trips as the whole process is so...

First high speed charging experience (350kW) in Vancouver BC Area. (feat. Petro-Canada)

There are some small additional steps to take, mainly you'll need to put an app on your phone for that network and create an account linked to a credit card for payment. In the Pacific Northwest I mainly see Electrify America and ChargePoint stations, so I have an account with each. With EA...

    $1,000 yearly EV registration fee?

Having ridden light rail a fair big getting around Seattle (work for Amazon) I'm not a fan. It's basically become a mobile homelessness encampment, I've literally seen the homeless take it to SeaTac airport so they could crash there for the night. Smells like whiz or worse and there's a...

Taycan Brakes fail in wet conditions - NHTSA complaint March 2, 2023

Weird, as this was not something (no regen when starting out) that my car did before they did the rear brake recall on my 4S. It was noticeably different immediately after getting it back, as in I noticed it clearly pulling out of the dealership service department. Once I figured out what it...

    Heater broken. My turn.

You'd think, I guess, but no. I came in with the car and told them exactly what was going on, it's a super common problem, and they were aware of it. Set a service appointment and then after some time (too long), they said, "yep, it's the heater thing just like we thought, there's a waitlist...

    Heater broken. My turn.

I hadn't noticed a difference on charging but then I never use DC chargers.

    Heater broken. My turn.

My advisor told me after the initial service appointment to diagnose that there were no other impacts, which I took to include things like the battery heater. They are definitely not replacing (according to them) with the original part and that the supply of improved parts is in fact going to...

    Heater broken. My turn.

    1) Yes, the A/C will work, and the defroster will work, but it will just blow cold air. No other impacts. 2) The replacement part is an improved part, they won't replace it with the old failure-prone part. This is the reason for the delays - they had to get this revised part into the supply...

    $1,000 yearly EV registration fee?

And oh yes, I'm totally with you on the RTA tax - it's completely nuts. I live in Gig Harbor so am not getting hosed by that but it just seems ridiculous to add that kind of annual charge just because you live in a city 30 miles from Seattle that wants a light rail line when there's already...

    $1,000 yearly EV registration fee?

All good, I was careful to cover myself by saying "most EV's". For additional context, my other vehicle is a Marine Corps HMMWV that has "Feed me a Prius" stenclled on the back, so was mainly meaning those!

    $1,000 yearly EV registration fee?

I'm actually OK with this, but it should be national with money apportioned back to the states based on where the registration is. Road funding budgets are already under stretch because the gas tax was designed when cars got 20 miles per gallon and used nice fat tires, not the road-destroying...

Taycan Brakes fail in wet conditions - NHTSA complaint March 2, 2023

While having my heater fixed I think they did this recall as well - the thing I noticed, though, is that the regenerative braking doesn't seem to come on until I've been driving for a bit. I do notice the "regenerative braking" setting is now always set to "off" when I start the car - anyone...

    Heater broken. My turn.

Had mine replaced, and while they were at it they performed a recall on the rear wheels (I think the braking system?) that took an extra few days. I'll note that I think I was moved up the list because when surveyed about my first trip in to evaluate I'd responded that I wasn't happy to have to...

    Heater broken. My turn.

Even with the annoyance of this heater failure, I would still absolutely buy a Taycan. It is an amazing creation - I tell people that if it got 500 miles range it would be absolutely perfect. Sounds like they got hosed buy a part supplier with a design defect on the original part, so if I...

    Heater broken. My turn.

Add me to the list, 2021 Taycan 4S took it in on 2/15 and am told the high voltage heater core needs to be replaced, with no ETA on the backordered part. Was told it would be likely at least an additional 2 weeks (so 4 weeks total).
