Different vehicle story but it’s the only time I’ve ever had to use GAP. We leased a 2021 MB GLS450 and rolled about $10k in negative equity into the lease. Not even 4 months later I t-boned someone who decided to make a u-turn in front of me while I was going 40 mph. The cost to repair was $62k, the value of the vehicle was $75k and the loan was $90k, so the insurance company totaled it and wrote the check for $75k to MBFS. Their GAP covered the rest.
