I'm curious about aftermarket battery warranties. Porsche doesn't offer them, but I understand that there are lifetime battery warranties being sold by EV only dealerships I've seen on YouTube. Have you had any experience with them?

Great question. For customers who are going beyond the manufacturing warranty and want to extend past the battery coverage of 8 years, I offer the Fidelity coverage, which covers the battery and the different components. I am only able to offer this on a vehicle within the manufacturing warranty or with the CPO coverage.

With Porsche VSP and Fidelity protections, you enjoy nationwide coverage and the freedom to choose any Porsche service center. Your contract also provides clear, state-specific details about cancellation policies and guidelines, if any.

I don't fully understand why there is so much price variation between Porsche dealerships for a warranty that is provided by Porsche itself. Is it just that each dealership is given the freedom to mark up these policies by however much they want? (and in this instance, Kelli your dealership is just more aggressive with its pricing than others?)

That is correct. Each Porsche dealer has the discretion to set pricing independently. As an EV Porsche owner, I recognize the value of the protection being offered; however, pricing that results in customer price gouging is, in my view, unethical.

Do you only cover extended warranties in the US, im asking because Im in the Uk, might be a stupid question or maybe you have someone in the UK that does it it too?

Great question, I get asked this a lot, so not to worry. Although Porsche is a global brand, being based in the U.S. means I can only provide nationwide coverage, excluding other countries at this time.

Kelly, can I ask two questions, respectfully since I’m Canadian

1) do you know if fidelity is selling in Canada too? And have you ever seen a claim covered? (We have aftermarket warranties here that fight to prove that you have violated them when you actually make a claim)

2) there’s another thread about software versions, could you ask a tech if they’re able (not necessarily allowed) to update a J1.1 to J1.2 version of PCM?
