When porsche dealerships are charging 4k to replace a 12v battery, I don't think its too much of a gamble to pay for an extended warranty. One repair will pay for itself. Porsche service fees are borderline theft.
… and sometimes obtaining money by deception (Fraud Act, 2006).
E.g. anyone who has paid for an aircon ‘service’, or has followed advice to replace brake pads with 6mm remaining (50% worn).

Porsche Approved does not cover "aging related defects" of the 12V battery in Europe, and aging is up to their interpretation.
Not saying it's a bad idea to buy the warranty, but there is a pretty definite list of exclusions.

Anyone with Porsche Approved warranty in EU, how tough was it to pass 111-points check?
I got my 2022 Taycan with 111000 km, complete service history record always by Porsche dealership and I didn't notice any issue with the car at all.
Judging by your recent post @D00notD00d the 111 point check was just a box ticking exercise by the dealer.

Would have been 5, but in November I pulled out of buying a demo j1.2, 300 miles away, because on collection the paintwork condition wasn’t as described, the 111 point check doc was a joke (incorrect mileages, unanswered questions, some sections with more ticks than boxes) and despite the salesman agreeing to the detailed SoH test, they back tracked on that, instead giving me only any instant read out certificate with a stated accuracy of plus or minus 5%.
The sales manager said ‘no one ever asks to see the 111 check doc, and we’d never agree a full SoH test’ - despite the salesman agreeing they’d follow the Porsche AG long test procedure doc which I’d sent them.

Not here, they checked absolutely everything including that the tyres are NF0.
I had codes for 2 climate control regulating flaps, I had to fix those first before they would pass it.

Kinda like Aflac supplemental health policies that pay people cash if they get sick or hurt. It’s for people who couldn’t afford normal deductibles but can budget for $10/week for that plan.
Funny you mention this because I don’t like taking too many unnecessary risks, so when the opportunity came for me to buy personal accident insurance through MetLife (similar to Aflac) I jumped on it since it was $10 per month for the family. Fast forward to 7 months into the policy and my wife fractures her right kneecap requiring immediate surgery, and I suddenly remembered that coverage. They paid for everything and then some, which definitely helped put us at ease when the medical expenses arrived.

All this to say I agree that these insurances most of the times are profitable items for dealerships and car companies but I’ve had my share of tire punctures, wheel scrapings, and windshield damages all while driving normally, that I no longer go without them. I would do the same long-term for the Taycan if I knew I was going to keep it longer than its own warranty. 😁

I was using that as an example of Porsche overcharging (by a factor of 10) for a simple service and parts. Not that a CPO policy would of covered the battery replacement, but rather that any little thing that needs fixing on a Porsche would be very expensive by normal car standard.
