Is the courtesy inspection the same as a 2 year inspection?

I brought my car in about 2 months ago because the homellink button was working. The service department fix that and did a "courtesy inspection." Everything was fine except for needing new tires which I replaced. Now it's time for the 2 year inspection. I already replaced the air filter and wiper blade. The brake fluid was done less than a year ago for the brake recall. Do I still have to bring the car in for the 2 year inspection to keep the warranty active?

I am in the same situation. You may be able to get away with just bringing the car in and letting the dealer reset your 2-year service inspection minder and any other service due reminders. You cannot just clear them yourself.

I don't mind paying a fair price for their service, but my dealer wanted 1.5k just to do the 2 year inspection.

That is what they are supposed to tell you by the book. For me, it is a negotiation, saying remove brake fluid flush, remove air filter, remove fob battery, remove wiper blades, and only quote me the inspection with report that will note the reset of service reminders.

I brought mine in at 3 months for a workshop update. Dealer automatically pushed my 2-yr date out by three months, instead of original 2-yrs from date of purchase. Seemed like the best way to handle it.

With all the recalls my Taycan has had in the first 2 years of its life, the only item from 2 year inspection that was not done was cabin filter replacement, which most people can do themselves. The big one was the brake fluid flush, which was done with the brake line recall. I didn't bother with the 2 year service, even though I have it pre-paid. Hoping I can use that credit at 4 years.
