Well that was kinda my thought- why would you say "it won't work" when you really don't know? I mean if the paperwork says it was sold 12/25/21, it's as good as in the hands of the customer?
Your post sounded like you were saying definitively "it won't work" as from some sort of experience.

Where do you get that from?
The tax forms say "when you took physical delivery?"
Not trying to be difficult- I'm honestly curious because this is what I'm trying to do.
If it's sold on paper how would anyone otherwise know when it's physically delivered?

I agree with you on this one. You're even able to buy a car with add-ons and leave your car at the dealership for them to be installed. I'm not a tax lawyer or an accountant, but I would think the "date of delivery" is the date you sign all documentation, including completing documentation to fund and authorize the loan/payment. I would think that meeting those requirements pre Jan 1 '22 would constitute "taking delivery".

TYD updated that my car has been in Emden since 11/22. On Vessel 12/10 with arrival in Jacksonville on 12/31.

Looking at other forums, it seems the next boat going to Jax is the Siem Aristole. Any ideas if this is accurate, and if 12/10 is conservative estimate?

Siem Aristotle is due to arrive in Emden on Dec 2 at 14:00 according to Vessel Finder so the timing is about right.

My TYD won’t load. Anyone else having that issue? Per 1-800-Porsche, mine got to Emden on 11/26 so hopefully I’m on that boat.

My dealer tells me they can invoice once scanned in the port in Jax.

I believe its one and the same- from what I understand they invoice Porsche and its available to be "bought" as soon as its off the ship and assigned to a truck for transport.

Who has a Jan '22 delivery that is marked for Jacksonville? I'm scheduled for port arrival on 1/7 and arrival at dealer in Atlanta on 1/14.

My car is built and arrived at the port today. Same schedule 1/7/22 arrival in Jacksonville, 1/14/22 delivery to Champion in Fort lauderdale

What a coincidence - I was searching for potential cars always landed in case I wanted to renege on my order and buy a landed CT to get the tax credit. I called champion as I saw they may have some but they advised that they won’t sell me if I not a Florida resident. They called me to give me the bad news this morning.

From Emden, it will arrive in RI on Dec 24 and at the dealer Dec 31. Fingers crossed. FWIW, the IRS form asks for when the vehicle was “put into service” by the buyer and what the VIN is. I imagine the IRS could search for title and registration applications. Here’s where the ship is as of Nov 30-on its way to Emden.

if you are in Naples, the Siem Aristotle in your SHIP, as it is mine with Jacksonville the port on entry. SA only ship that is scheduled for Jacksonville.
