Hi everyone,
To admins : sorry in advance if this thread isn't at the right place, or if it's considered useless, then please move/remove it !

I just wanted to share this guy's video because it's pretty much everything I told myself when I first drove a Porsche in my life, few weeks ago, which were 2 Taycan 4S and 1 Turbo that I'm currently buying.
He's summing up so well the "wow" effect, I think if you have people around you not understanding why you're making the financial effort to drive such a car, they'll get a first glimpse of why, until they drive it of course :)

NB : the title mentions battery, but it's really how he describes the driving experience that takes most of the time in this vid

That was a fun video to watch. The reviewer’s glee with the car comes through — even though he is an acknowledge petrol head. A powerful Taycan is extremely joyful, as well as every single one of them being a really nice handler. Saving now to get mine.

héhé glad you liked it, it's exactly why I posted it, I could "feel" the guy's emotions being similar to what I felt when I took the wheel.

Just my 2 cents of advice since you're saving : go for the Turbo.
In 1 week I drove a normal, then a 4S (both for ~1h), the feeling was good & very similar between both. Then I tested the Turbo I'm buying and I was like "wow, is this the same car?" - so of course it could a mixed bag of parameters such as tire pressure being perfect on the Turbo while it wasn't on the 2 others etc, but in the conditions I experienced there was really a "gap" with the Turbo, which is why I put the extra money to get this one (I don't need the extra horsepower honestly).
Also, I've read a lot of opinions on the 18 positions seats vs 14, I tested both but too briefly to have an opinion, the only thing I can say is the 18 positions allowed me to perfectly be maintained laterally, perfect for my body shape (I'm 1,90m / 80gk).

True though a 2026 GTS has more power than his several year old Turbo Model he tested. Though of course would has to pay massive cost for a new one if one were to go that route. A greatly depreciated Turbo is financial a far better choice for most.

yes exactly, getting the optimized/larger battery & range of MY25 is the only "big plus" according to me that could justify going for it, but it would mean ~140K€ maybe, instead of the ~70 I'm putting in this 2020 Turbo, and besides the money mobilization even if you have it, it also means you'll be hit by the depreciation really heavily...
e.g. my 37000km Turbo is 74K€ today with 3Y of PA warranty (buying directly from Porsche center), it's got near-new tires, it will be fully updated (had to push them but they're re-checking everything now), if I sell it in 1Y / +10000km I'll loose max 10% ie 7K€.
Now if I buy a MY25 low-km for 140K€, If I resell it in 1Y +10000km, I'm going to loose at least 20% ie 28K€.
I'm not that rich yet lol
Besides if I was ready to put 140K€, I'd seriously consider the new Cayenne (well-optioned is 140K€), it's only 400ch and not a Taycan, but I love the interior & general tech.
Definitely happy with the deal I get :)

I test drove a Turbo but ended up buying a 4S. In London you rarely get chances to use the extra power anyway, and the 4S is already quick. After owning it for a while, I’m glad I chose it over the Turbo or Turbo S. As those models often struggle with battery issues because of the higher demand. Can’t comment on the gen2 yet.
