Hi everyone,

I’ve been having issues with both rear windows catching on the frame when opening the doors on my Porsche Taycan GTS, which was wrapped with PPF from new through Porsche.
JCT600 in the UK has told me this is "normal." However, I have another Taycan with no such issue, and an independent Porsche dealer has confirmed that the window operation is not normal.

Has anyone else got any issues with the back windows catching ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

My front driver's side window sometimes catches on raise, but the rears have been fine. It's intermittent, though, and the techs haven't figured out what's doing it...yet.

Have this on front passenger window and asked them to take a look while it was in last week for brake recall. They say something has failed in door and parts ordered. Awaiting call to book in again.

I've experienced a loud click when opening both rear doors but had not investigated properly to see what the cause was? So is it catching at the top of the window with your door frame? I had thought my clicking was just "sticking" to the rubber seals but feels too loud for that!

Mine is a 2024 4S saloon - no wrap.

Yes same here , it is the window not lowering fast enough ,it sounds like a loud click I had it checked out by another Porsche dealership Definitely not normal , I own another taycan ( base model ) rear window function normal . I am trying to get it sorted but JCT600 is not very helpful .
good to know it’s not the wrap .
It can wear out the seals causing leaking , it’s been with the dealer for over 7 weeks but they refused to fix it so far .

Have you tried holding the window switch in the up position for 10 seconds to calibrate it? Same on the down side.

That's really helpful - thanks!

I'll mention it to the dealer as I'm in for brake hose recall soon anyway!

I will try that but it has been at the dealership for 7 or 8 weeks and they say it is normal , I would have expected they tried that ,I cannot just open the door , you need to lift up wait till the window drops then pull . do you have to do this ?

I think the doors lose their calibration when the battery gets disconnected. Not sure about the Taycan, but I have had to this a few times in my Cayman.
