...and for many of us, in the meantime, our Taycans sit dead, inoperable, with the "Electrical System Error" fault. My '22 CT4 since early June. I'll go 6 months or more without the use of the vehicle. And, the depreciation of pre-'24 Taycans is going to be quite significant as well - new battery or no new battery. Resale value already plummeting. Porsche needs to make this more 'right' for us 'early adopter' owners of inferior Taycan EVs - well beyond just a recall.

^ Since early June?!? Also curious, given your VT location, what dealer is fixing your '22 CT4 (or at least, at what dealer is your '22 CT4 parked in an inoperable status), given that I (and my '22 CT4) am close to the VT border (and hence not very conveniently located to any Porsche dealers)

Jonathan: my S. Vermont based '22 Taycan CT4 was ordered and purchased over in Nashua, NH.. and it currently sits dead over at New Country Porsche in Clifton Park, NY (my closest dealer) with battery issues. They are projecting early Nov for next repair attempt. They tried for a month, back in Feb/Mar as well - via a tow-away - eventually replacing the LV battery - which didn't solve the dreaded and constant "Electrical System Error" problems. Diagnostics, parts, software, and availability of trained/skilled technicians all seem to be contributing to the issue resolution delays. In my opinion, Porsche should just replace our faulty Taycans with new ones, or buy them back outright. Our cars will likely never be the same, nor be reliable, nor worth much on the market after they mess with the very high-tech batteries, their cases (air/water contamination) - and the controls/software integrations. They are not much more than Chevy Bolts now... the faulty ones anyway.

Yipes, sorry to hear that -- on all counts.

So far I feel like I've been dodging the bullet(s), since my used Taycan at a little over 40k miles (most of them by me) has been flawless, and for regular maintenance I just happen to have a indie Porsche specialist around the corner.
My closest dealer is an hour away. The heater recall worked out perfectly for me, since it was done while I waited, and I ended up having other reasons to be in the neighborhood, so really didn't take me much out of my way.
Brake hose recall is scheduled for Oct 23. Still no big deal.
But the prospect of traveling down there again early next year to have monitoring software installed that might tell me never to charge above 80%, which would rule out using it for much of my winter travel, with a fix that probably won't be implemented for months (at least) ...

Still though, that's minor compared to what you've been through.
I sure hope that eventually your Taycan is fixed.
Although even once it is eventually fixed, if Porsche does not offer you any add'l compensation, I can understand that you'll swear off the brand forever.

In two years of ownership now, I've only been able to put a little over 3000 miles on the Taycan. The sad part is I waited for the 3rd model year ('22) to give Porsche time to work the bugs out of this brand new tech vehicle for them. ...guess I should have waited for 5th year vetsiobs ('24's and up).

^ Ugh, that's so horrible -- spending all that money and wasting all that time in return for just enough driving to appreciate what you're missing. And apparently Porsche offers nothing in compensation. If this were, say, a Kia many years ago, sure, get what you pay for. But Porsche seems indifferent to maintaining its brand image among Taycan owners.

Note in the original post that this particular recall, ARB5, is an expansion by 193 vehicles not previously covered by three older recalls, APB5, ARA4, and ARA5.
These 4 recalls all have to do with possibly replacing HV modules or the entire battery.

Two recalls just announced, ARB6 and ARB7, involve installing on-board diagnostic software on Taycans to apparently monitor not-yet-detected battery problems, and if detected, limit charging to 80% or 50%.

Thanks for the ntsb link. My battery is undergoing this process now. I was curious why it had to be shipped, but my Porsche center did not have an answer.

Now it seems like the answer is "because we contracted a third party to fix these"
