Considering the weight of the Taycan, tires barely passed 4/32", time to change?

Just got a notification from the dealer service while having my recalls done. They said my tires tread depth were between 3/32" and 4/32". Recommend tire change. D you agree?

At 3/32 wet traction is compromised and at 2/32 the tire is considered worn and out of manufacturer's warranty for workmanship.

Are these original tires, what wheel size, what type of tire (summer, all-season) and brand, and how many miles? Did the dealer measure and provide tread depth measurement on delivery when the car was new or the tires were new? Did they recommend replacement options, what are they, and what kind of treadwear warranty comes with them? Just curious to compare to mine.

These are original new tires that came with the car. 20" wheels Continental ProContact All season. About 22000 miles. Warranty is 55000 miles. But considering the weight of the Taycan and the torque it delivers, I am not surprised it wears down fast.
Replacement options, Same or the Pirelli which did nt come with wear warranty.

Thank you for sharing. I just did the research into the treadwear warranty for the new vehicle OEM tires and there is NONE. The 55k treadwear warranty on the All-Season Continentals only applies to the replacement tires and any premature wear is built into the cost of the tire. Please see my thread regarding this topic:

I would not risk driving as heavy of the vehicle as Taycan on tires that are at 3/32 or below.

22,000 miles? Clearly you aren't using the car correctly and mashing the gas peddle at every green light. It's rare to get over 10,000 miles on a heavy car with 500+ HP. When it first came out, all the Tesla Model S people were baffled that they needed new tires at their first service and said the tires or car must be defective.

Are you saying I got more miles out of these tires than expected?

As you asked, I would not be driving any of my vehicles at 3/32.” Replacement time soonest is my opinion; I always change out tires when the lowest on is down to 4/32.”
