Anybody else ( @whitex ) have any ideas as to why 45 minutes worked and shorter disconnections didn't?
I am not sure, but couple of things to note:
  1. Conbox High (ECU which contains the LTE modem in J1 cars) is one of the few ECU's which has their own rechargeable battery (see this post). While this battery will not run out in 45 minutes, perhaps it takes that long for the LTE firmware to time out waiting on other ECU's which are down when the 12V is disconnected?
  2. Whenever I did any major recoding in my car, I noticed 40 minutes or more was required for the car to "reset itself" (and therefore my changes taking effect, or in some cases for car to even be drivable, as recoding some ECU's can make the car undrivable until complete reset). I learned that when at first I was impatient and went back to the car after only 30 minutes. This was all with 12V physically connected though.

Had the LTE issue last Wed.
My car could detect the onboard Vodafone SIM and it showed it had signal. But it wouldn't connect to the internet meaning all related services went down. So, anything app related and the car couldn't communicate with the Porsche servers.

No home consumer fix for mine.
Had to go to the dealer - a pain as it was with them that Mon and Tue! - and it's 1 hour each way.
Fix took them 10 mins - they had to restart a module. And the dealer was great.

Anyone having LTE issues today? Just driven home and it wouldn’t connect the entire time.

seem to remember it was the coldest 2 days last year I had issues too, always when preheating is needed. Had to scrape mine this morning like an ICE owner

I had the same issue today. Headed home from the office this afternoon and it did not connect the whole way back. Thought it was just me, but it must be a Porsche issue. Just been out to the car and still no connection. Might set the pre heating from the car tonight, just in case.

I hadn’t thought of that, have just been out and set a timer. Thanks for the idea! Still no LTE

No problem @Dabz . Hopefully it will get resolved soon. Was thinking of charging using Octopus Intelligent tonight, but assume that won't work, so will charge tomorrow night instead, to give it time to get resolved.
I have set my timer in the car now. Fingers crossed it works...?

No connectivity for me tonight, either: app won't update, no ability to pre-heat, etc. and no album art when driving. However, the PCM in the car is showing a good Vodafone UK signal ?.

Yes, mine woukdn't preheat from the app and couldn't use the integrated Spotify app on my way home, so had to use Android Auto to play Spotify. The signal in my car also showed it was strong, but no connectivity. Hopefully they are working on it right now to get it sorted.

Yep - issues all day on Thur except for 5 mins mid morning.
Couldn't set new timers, car charged unnecessarily to 100%.

Was working by 6:45 this am.

Simple qu:
"Why doesn't Porsche push a message to the app / email / SMS telling us there are issues?"
This is simple and quick to do, and helps stop customers thinking they have an[other] issue with their car!
The Porsche approach is bloody infuriating.

My car couldn't connect yesterday.
Using Octopus and Hypervolt did charge last night though. But to 100% not the timer value of 80%.

I charged with Octopus on Tuesday night and it worked to 85% but said charge error first thing which is unusual. When I tried to use the app to pre heat it didn't work, so went back to old ways and put the key in the car and defrosted. I'm not on a public road so quite safe!

You can start the preheat by pressing the preheat button in the charge screen in the car.
You can then get out and lock it and it will do the hour preheat.
I did this on the service loan car I had yesterday since obviously my app wasn't connected to it.

When I got my own car back it didn't connect when I got home but is back to normal this morning without me doing anything. Presumably just Porsche server down for a while.

Glad to hear you got your car back Frank. I think you said it had been in for a while. I hope it is all resolved as you expect.
