Now apparently it is in this module that the windshield wipers are giving errors etc..., as I mentioned the errors above, now where is this module located in the car, will reprogramming this automatic module erase all these errors...???

Well, according to what I was able to find out from this photo, this BCM module is either on the inside of the dashboard or on the outside, just after the front window…..!????I just hope that this module is not located exactly behind the Dashboard, otherwise the Dashboard will have to come out a little…

Hi Whitex, can you tell me where the BCM1 and BCM2 modules are located? You have a little information about the location of the BCM2 module, which I think is in the trunk in the back of my car, I also wanted to know exactly where the BCM1 is. Do you have any idea? I did a diagnostic on my car and it gave me a series of errors in this module and only one airbag error in the BCm2……and of course if you can also get the main functions of BCM 1 I would be very grateful?

Not sure where BCM1 is, but BCM2 is in the rear trunk on the right.

Ignore the wire path comment, the picture above came from my post on EU tail lights retrofit for North American Taycans. Later on when I get some time, I will scan through the docs I have to see if I can locate BCM1 for you.
ok whitex I am extremely grateful….?
These are the error codes that the BCM1 module is giving... so either the problem is with the module or with some electrical wire in the module line, for example my windshield wipers, not the front ones, do not work, only the rear ones...

Here is a picture showing the thermal control unit location, which is behind the BCM1

As for your errors, if you had cleared them and they came back, it looks like you're having some communications problem. There will probably corresponding errors on modules talking to BCM1, such as the Gateway. I have seen such errors whenever I unplugged something to test things (like when I tried reverse engineering the BCM2) but once I plug stuff back in, let the car sit for 40min+ to reset itself, I can clear those errors and they don't come back.

This appears to be located just below the head up displays….

Thanks, by any chance you also have the information on the list of main functions of BCM1….??

If for some reason it is necessary to remove this module, it is clear that I will almost have to disassemble the entire Dashboard or part of it! Apparently there are communication failures, now it remains to be seen whether they are communication failures between other modules and the BCM1 or if there is an electrical wire cut or disconnected somewhere, because for example my front windshield wipers do not work and if they do not work and the motor is fine then something is happening in this module, This module controls whether the front windshield wipers work or not, because my light and rain sensor also seem plausible and I think the camera also the wiring of both the rain sensor and the camera comes from the middle of the glass through the front window pillar to... probably to the BCM1 module, now how to check all this... automatically reprogram the BMC1 module with the pii... check with the piwi which modules are having errors... ???? or disassemble everything that is there until reaching this BCM1 module and check all the wiring that connects and leaves this module...

yes I deleted these errors and they came back.,and yes, as you can see in the photos and analyze some of these modules, there are communication problems with BCM 1

...why do I have the brake pads warning light on the Dashboard, and the ABS... why don't the front windshield wipers not working... it's clear... that the BCM1 is what makes all this work... now here's the question... what to do...

As we mentioned before, this is where it gets complicated, and you get into debugging computer systems. Different people have different approaches. If it was me personally, I'd start with all the interconnectivity, beginning with the Gateway, as it is the central "switchboard" for all the ECUs talking to each other. I'd investigate all Gateway communications or bus errors and try to resolve them first. If a main connection to the gateway (COMFORT CAN 2) is broken from BCM1, it's likely you will get all warning lights associated with what BCM1 is responsible for, because the status of all these functions cannot be retrieved. If the gateway has multiple COMFORT CAN 2 errors, that would mean it's likely an issue on the Gateway side, if only BCM1 is not responding but other ECUs like Air Conditioning are, then perhaps the issue is on the BCM1 side. Fixing Gateway->BCM connection could fix all BCM1 related issues in one fell swoop.

Below is the best overview diagram of all ECU's I've come across so far - might be helpful to you (sorry, never found a higher res of this picture anywhere on the net). If you got a PPN account, you can browse through all the ECUs and their interconnections, though last I looked it was not always quick or intuitive.

PS> Not sure why you'd need to recode (the car should have had all of its ECUs coded to match in the first place), but you can also recode ECUs to see if anything changes. Not sure you want to reprogram (vs. recode) any ECUs, since your PIWIS likely has old versions of firmwares cached, so you might create mismatches in the system.

Also, not sure if you ever saw this, it has a lot of technical info about Taycan's sister platform - the Audi GT. It's the same platform as Taycan, but reskinned by Audi.

Yes, I already had this file from Audi and GT and exactly the same platform. I acquired this file when I was looking for the worship manual for the Porsche Taykan and as I couldn't find it, I was trying for the Audi E tron GT because I thought it would be easier...

Carlos,

Reference the workshop manual, you have access to most if not all you need from the PPN account you applied for

Lots of good info from Whitex.

You need to decide where to start with either automatic coding or Automatic programming.

I am not clear on what the difference is between them, but you will not harm something if it is already working correctly and go through Automatic coding.

Porsche Taycan Piwi diagnostic program for Porche Taykan 1737368149960-ds

The Gateway appears to me to be the higher issue you are facing here since I think the Gateway is the communications master for all the units, but happy to hear back from others on this point.

So the procedure is to highlight the error you want with a single click and the error will go blue.

Then click on the Coding programme tab and select Automatic coding.

My guess is that this will not work on any of the lower level faults, but as soon as you find the highest level fault that will reprogramme the highest unit that is failing to communicate with the rest of the system, most of the faults you are seeing will disappear.

I would again ask you to post clear screen shots, we are trying to help you, you should do your best to help us help you.
