Porsche Taycan [FREE] tCAN-Pro - TAYCAN BATTERY DIAGNOSIS FOR THE COMMUNITY tcanpro

Hello everyone, as some of you may know I have been working for quite some time on a diagnosis tool for PORSCHE Taycan that will benefit both shops and the community as a whole. Today I am releasing in the Taycan Forum as a world premier the free version for the community. All you need is an ENET cable and a Windows computer.
Porsche Taycan [FREE] tCAN-Pro - TAYCAN BATTERY DIAGNOSIS FOR THE COMMUNITY 1750059553617-3

tCAN-Pro will show you all battery information as well as a visualization of all the modules, their polarity, and their voltage. The app will automatically flag faulty modules (using Porsche's criteria of voltage difference between cells at resting state we identify failed / likely to fail modules).

(In the paid version of the app there will be AI analysis of bad modules, using our reverse engineered AI model from LG which bases their analysis on voltage of cells during load, this will be released in the next versions paid of course! - as this is mostly meant for repair shops).

Some other functionalities in the app are also paid (under subscription) but they are also meant for workshops and not really Taycan owners.

Furthermore in coming releases I will include some paid per time features to do some codings (such as spoiler up all the time) or download latest PCM update files etc... This will be charged per time and reasonably priced for Taycan users which are not workshops.

Please feel free to try the app and offer feedback!!

DOWNLOAD HERE

PS: TO USE THE APP YOU NEED TO REGISTER AN ACCOUNT AT CT14NET. REGISTER HERE

Unzip the file and copy the folder inside the zip to C:/ then execute the .exe as normal

EDIT-1: 19/06/2025

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO GET YELLOW MODULES PLEASE TRY THIS PROCEDURE BELOW WHICH WILL FORCE YOUR BMS TO BALANCE THE BATTERY.

AFTER FINISHING THE PROCEDURE READ THE BMS WITH MY TOOL AND KEEP READING IT FREQUENTLY UNTIL THE MODULES TURN YELLOW AGAIN (IF IT EVER HAPPENS).

NOTE HOW LONG IT TOOK FOR MODULES TO BECOME YELLOW AGAIN AFTER RE-BALANCE.
CRITERIA AS FOLLOWS

YELLOW AFTER 1 OR 2 CHARGE/DISCHARGE CYCLE = FAILED (FAILING) MODULE

YELLOW AFTER 10 OR MORE CHARGE/DISCHARGE CYCLE = MODULE MORE WORN THAN OTHER BUT NOT NECESSARILY FAILED (YET AT LEAST) -
IF SUBSCRIBING TO THE PAID VERSION USE AI DIAGNOSIS TO EVALUATE WHETHER THOSE MODULES WILL FAIL IN THE FUTURE

Great Work! I suppose this can't be utilized on pack level- Meaning, that once the battery pack is outside the car?

Can't wait to see the paid version. It's important for us to have the criteria that allows meaningful second life to the modules! (In the paid version of the app there will be AI analysis of bad modules, using our reverse engineered AI model from LG which bases their analysis on voltage of cells during load, this will be released in the next versions paid of course! - as this is mostly meant for repair shops)

Correct. Currently the app works through DoIp so you need the Gateway in between the battery and the laptop.

In the future for the workshop subscription I may come up with something to connect directly to the battery through CAN bus instead and read the packs out of the car.

Hi @ct14garage ,

A separate query, if you don't mind.

Can PIWIS be used through an ENET cable/ adaptor or does PIWIS only work with the `VAS 6154` adaptor?

Is there anyway to configure PIWIS to use ENET adaptor?

I need to do some `Manual Coding without Rules (development)` in the BCM1 module for daylight running lights.

Thanks..

PIWIS will never work with ENET

Can you clarify what you mean by “download latest PCM” future update?

Latest PCM update for the VIN? Or for taycans in general? J1.1 stopped receiving versioned PCM updates, so not really actual updates. J1.2 receives actual updates.

Would this future paid update technically allow us to flash j1.2 pcm updates to a j1.1?

If yes or no, have you ever done/attempted this?

Honestly, taycan is the only EV were the community hasn’t figured out how to update stuff themselves; which is a pity.

My dealer was telling me that there is no reason they can’t update in a j1.1 most ECUs and PCM to match j1.2, beside porsche not wanting them to do it and obviously not covering the costs.

Thanks for your work. Excited for the pcm update feature

No, this is false. PCM6.1 continues receiving updates as normal. dealers may not do the update anymore but that’s a different matter.

My software will let you download latest versions for 9J1.1 and 9J1.2 (this will be a per time paid feature btw!!)

4360 is the latest version for PCM6.1 (whether 9J1.1 or 9J1.2)

for 1.1 too?! yeah thats pretty unheard of anyone having that installed on theirs. is it OTA? or something which needs (OPC) to plug usb stick in with the zip file on?

have you installed it on any 1.1?

also is there anyway of doing this using a bluetooth or usb obd2 cable? i'm assuming that the only difference between the "ENET" cable is the presentation to the connected computer. (never heard of it connecting to ethernet before tbh)

Yes I have installed in many 1.1 and my app will soon give the option of downloading the file and making a usb installer that you can flash from engineering mode… (Paid feature)

ENET is the cheapest, easiest and most universally used. Plenty of people have this cable lying around and if not you can order one (costs $6)

The world of bluetooth adapters or usb obd2 is a nightmare. Different brands, different supported things. You may have one specific brand but most people dont…

In the future I will add J2534 compatibolity to it so it will work with Openthru cables (Tactrix Openport etc etc)… but keep in mind many of the Bluetooth ones are proprietary and wont work. They are also much more expensive than ENET. At least > $80

100% agree.... nothing beats a wired connection for reliability/ stability and data transfer speeds.

ENET cables have been around for ages and used by multiple manufacturers. The whole BMW tuning industry runs on ENET cables.

Cant' wait for such features...

@ct14garage

I have a list of coding features that I would like to be available through your software.
I have been able to code some of these through PIWIS ( a cloned copy) but many that I have not been able to figure out in PIWIS.

Should I list these features here on this forum post or send you a separate PM?
