Interestingly 4 or 5 years ago, my Macan S experienced similar issues to this. Nav crashing (no charge planning of course - 3 litre ICE) and all on line services disappearing.
The vehicle was out of warranty but I contacted Porsche and a discussion ensued for a number of weeks and they agreed...
Heater and OBC are 'the luck of the draw'. New variations are developed all the time but they seem to keep failing, perhaps not a frquently as once was the case.
'Standard' 11kw charger is not immune but much less frequent than the 22kw one.
The good thing about my previous Macan S was that 'my' wheels were available in 21 summer, and 20/19 winter sizes in the same design. Sport Classics thus negating your issue.
I know, doesn't help...
Thanks again.
Standard coolant ! Impressive..
How common are the 11kw OBC failures? I know about the 22kw ones being dreadful.
I take it the issue is similar?
Under specced components?
Have they fixed it?
Actually, yes; dielectric fluid is clever stuff. Many data centres now run submerged cooling 'computers'.
On a different topic, you don't happen to know how to get the arm cover off the Tourismo rear wiper arm by any chance?
That is good to know.
Thank you.
My problem is I do not believe in coincidence. In this case I shall just have to subscribe to the 'these things happen' school of thought. :CWL:
Phone call just now confirms the death of my OBC. Off road part order so hopefully Wednesday/Thursday return...
Sorry, meant to annotate. Black box is heater with insulating cover; silver box is OBC. The heater hose connectors are directly above the OBC connectors... 🤔
