[FREE] tCAN-Pro - TAYCAN BATTERY DIAGNOSIS FOR THE COMMUNITY

you said "The reason is that the BMS doesnt report SoH specifically" which is not true :)

[FREE] tCAN-Pro - TAYCAN BATTERY DIAGNOSIS FOR THE COMMUNITY

of course does the BMS report that SoH value, and this is an estimation as it's with every BEV or Smartphone etc. It gets more accurate if you follow the provedure with discharging to close to 0% and charging to close to 100% with some resting phases to reach OCVs. Car scanner reads it directly...

Best dash cam for the Taycan?

answer: it seems to be possible as it collects all data in 60s snippets until capacity of SD card makes it needed to be overwritten

Best dash cam for the Taycan?

I am new to the dash cam topic. I like the tiny Garmin Mini but wonder if it's possible to record videos longer than the adhoc snippets from an accident or save button trigger.

    Part 2: The J1 Powertrain

very nice!! especially as I know that many bad tuners do not care about logging and only find some curves in WinOLS an make them "higher" :)

    Part 2: The J1 Powertrain

true 100 EUR is fair and below what Durametric was charging, but I will not patch my ECUs as my Taycan just got approved until 2029 or so. appreciate your insights? I can remember I needed to patch my ME7.8 as well for mem access over OBD to use me7logger for Porsche. Setzi was so kind to...

    Part 2: The J1 Powertrain

:) I don't think you are blocking a single stall as the default place to charge is from the right side behind the barrier. You and the white Tesla took the side walk :D

    Part 2: The J1 Powertrain

@prj curious now what they call amps/current in their naming convention. Do you have an enthusiasts version/license of your logging tool avail to read those RAM values? I am not a professional or competitor, only highly interested in that stuff for many years for my own cars

    Part 2: The J1 Powertrain

I kindly disagree, as I think the tires are the limits of traction at least until 60-70kph and so there is no less stress for the hardware if you kick full throttle a 60 or at 0 kph (1st gear RA). There is probably Lastschlagdämpfung or other limitors or smoothening as in ME7 etc. but this is as...

    Part 2: The J1 Powertrain

wow, this takes some time to read but great to find it at this level. two main points came into my mind: 1. Porsche has a launch control counter implemented which can be easily read with carscanner/piwis. There is also a hard limit which needs to be factory reset if reached. This is a very...

OBD info not readable by owners in 2025 Taycans?

if @prj is able to read the BMS via UDS over IP the rest would be the same as it's more or less the same $22 readbyid commands. PIWIS can also be set into a kind of a debug / engineering mode that logs all the traffic between. Whoever has a PIWIS(clone) and a J1.2 could do that I think.

    Part 1: MapEV Diag

just noticed this thread, need some time to consume, but my first impression from your username is probably true? Are you the same prj from Nefmoto and ME7logger scene? Have you ever met setzi62? :D

List of Taycan related Porsche TIS extracted from NHTSA (updated daily)

@Tooney informed me about missing updates in https://ti-list.azurewebsites.net/. 1-2 months delay was not unusual in the past years. but looks like NHTSA started a new 2025 "bucket" for the their datasets... :( https://www.nhtsa.gov/nhtsa-datasets-and-apis it should be fixed now until 2026 :)

OBD info not readable by owners in 2025 Taycans?

this would not work, as many of these sessions shown above took several hours, so you need power cables as well as a seat (in my age :D)

OBD info not readable by owners in 2025 Taycans?

found some old pics, 3 years ago... whenever I sell the car, I need to explain the low avarage lifetime speed of the Taycan (which was an odometer manipulation idicator in the past...)?? :)

OBD info not readable by owners in 2025 Taycans?

yes, but I recommend sitting in the car! :D

OBD info not readable by owners in 2025 Taycans?

it sniffs the traffic between PIWIS and the car.
