Crikey, I want a new battery! Summer best is c 235 and winter barely scrapes 200. Mindful, of course, that it’s nearly all 70mph steady state cruising for me.
Frozen blue is one of those colours where I exhibit all the Orwellian characteristics of doublethink. In the right light I think it’s absolutely stunning, and I sometimes wish I’d gone for it over Mamba. Then, on a flatter, greyer day (ie standard Norfolk) it’s washed out and reminds me of the 3...
I’ve just had the two fronts replaced at Porsche’s urging for this very thing. It does seem that my use of Range mode (when I’m just plodding to and from West London for work with Innodrive active and not really ”driving” the car) has been a cause. Despite not having slammed it into a pothole or...
Hi all,
A couple of years ago my car blew the onboard 22kw charger which bricked the car in its entirety. An updated version was fitted and all has been sweetness and light ever since (comparatively - as an aside, my wife’s Italian electric car which is only a few months younger than mine has...
Just as a back-up if you go that way again, there are a bank of 6 Ionity chargers at the Holiday Inn in Coquelles a few minutes from Le Shuttle which I’ve never found particularly busy.
Mine is heading into the OPC this Friday for noise from the fans, particularly notable under HPC charging (which I do almost exclusively). Will be interesting to see upon whom they put the responsibility for paying to sort it.
That’s the only snag isn’t it? I frequently tap on the notification rather than extending it and then the app gives you no indication of what the charge schedule is going to be.
I suspect you may well be right and as noted, the connectivity has been the only subsequent issue. Like I say it may be purely chance but having the Ohme app control the OI has worked markedly better than having the Octopus app do so. May just be an Ohme thing of course.
I’m not sure if this might or might not help but when I first set up OI I went through the app and set up using the Taycan as the device. This caused me no end of issues and it never quite worked right. When I removed it form Octopus I went back in and set up OI but this time using the charger...
I don’t know you, obviously, so please excuse this observation if it’s incorrect but I’d wager that depreciation has a very different effect in your life than it does to me if you’ve the wherewithal to have a XK120 and a XKSS in your stable. I freely admit I’m very jealous, in the nicest...
I arrived back at home during the winter with 8 miles of range remaining and parked up next to my wife’s car which was charging overnight. I thought nothing of it and planned to plug in the next morning when she left for work. Was somewhat alarmed next day to go to move the car the 10 feet to...
I can’t speak to your specific route but I went to Marseille and back in September and, whilst I almost exclusively used Ionity, I had the odd charge on various other networks both in and out of the Porsche charge network. My experience was uniformly positive. My take in France was that there...
Purely a matter of my own personal taste (or lack of) but it’s an option I wouldn’t specify again. I try to remember to turn it on in town or on quiet country roads at dawn/dusk just to enhance the possibility of my being noticed by pedestrians/fauna but I find the sound just faintly...
Although the cheeky so and sos are trying to persuade us to switch now. It’s a materially poorer offering than the existing setup so, like you, I’ll wait until my 3 years are up (end of October thus year for me).
I suppose Ionity has been held down at a very competitive price for a good few...
This problem occurs on my wife’s Fiat 500e in cold weather - you have to almost take a bat to the poor car to get the manual flap open. That said, I’ve had the DC side door mechanism replaced on mine due to errors.
Hi Marsh, yup, you can do that from within the app I believe but I’d recommend plug and charge as the easiest route. You’ll need to ensure it’s enabled in the PCM under the charging icon and it’s as simple as plugging an IONITY charger in and waiting. It’ll take a little longer than you might be...
