If I remember correctly from other threads -- The 2025 J1.2 has basically the same PCM hardware as J1.1, and then for 2026 it was refreshed to something slightly better.
I have 2025 J1.2 and flakey CarPlay connection, but never screen going totally out.
And the two finger reset thing probably...
I had someone help me, but it basically requires a Porsche Virtual tester, and then you connect up a big power supply to the 12V and start the clock on the per hour PIWIS subscription.
I've heard the virtual tester takes a while to unlock modules, but it didn't seem that bad and I think the...
Bit of a stretch to get to the food pyramid on this thread, but I get your point about the bureaucracy taking forever and still not getting the best outcome.
I have my J1.2 coded for full active HD matrix and it's glorious. I was on a road trip last week and put the car into range mode. The...
My last car (not a Taycan) had a glass roof and it took a chip because the roads around here are terrible. Since the people in the front seats can't even look out the glass roof, I was like "never again, it's not worth having something so brittle"
Yes, I find this restriction to be frustrating as well. Maybe there are mount points where the glass is attached, and those make it possible to add the roof rails? I have the steel roof and that seems like it should be able to at least hold as much weight as glass.
I haven't looked into after...
Rear wheel steering is also strongly recommended. I like it for tight turns in parking situations. People say it doesn't do much, but even a few inches can get out of a tight spot more easily.
The stability at high speed is also nice and worth it.
No, Active Ride is not necessary, but neither is a Taycan. I'd strongly recommend getting Active Ride though, as I really like mine. I don't have experience to compare with the standard air suspension.
The dealer inventory seems to only spec Active Ride at Turbo S and above. Definitely a...
I have the insulated glass and it reduces reception by about 1-bar by my estimates.
If I am really struggling to get any signal at all, I have rolled down the windows to maybe help a little bit.
I would be interested in hearing how well a booster works in the Taycan.
The CarPlay is flakey in my 2025. More recently, it's been connecting every time I get in the car, but there was a period of several months where wireless carplay did not work for me at all.
I believe 2025 PCM hardware was basically carried over from prior years, and then in 2026 it was...
My car was in the dealer service center for a week last month. They applied 3 software recalls and replaced the charge port door motor. They gave the car back to me without fixing the app connectivity -- said to call Porsche Connect customer service, which I have an open case with, but no...
Repair pic looks really good for a chip that size, hopefully it holds.
The fragility of the pano roof is one of the main reasons I opted for steel overhead.
Mine was in the dealership all last week to have them do software recalls and diagnose the broken data connection to Porsche Connect. They completed the software recalls, but sent me back home with the data connection still broken and told me to work with Porsche USA customer support to...
This has been the case with my car since Dec 4, 2025. The car has lost its data connection to the Porsche servers, and therefore the My Porsche app shows outdated information.
It happened once before to me in Dec 2024, but a call to Porsche USA then escalated to a team in Germany and they were...
It doesn't have to sleep, just can't try the close again for a few minutes. I'll drive 5-10 minutes to where I'm going and can do the reset upon arrival.
Also, you can swipe to do the forced close, doesn't have to be the dash button.
Do the manual flaps lock when closed, like if the doors are locked?
if yes, I would examine your right flap to see if there’s a problem. Sounds backwards, but that’s how the powered ones display the error.
Do you have the powered charge port doors?
My left port gets stuck and only closes 1/2 way. This causes my display to say "Error in right charging port" and will stay that way until I can get the left side closed +1 key cycle.
I believe the reason the message is saying "right" when "left" is...
I have an appointment next week for them to apply 3 software recalls, and attempt to get the car talking to My Porsche app again. None of the recalls seem to mention PCM, but I'll wait to record my version numbers until after that appointment.
Kinda makes me think your 111-point CPO inspection was more of a rubber stamp process, vs. actually going through a checklist and looking at stuff on the car. Probably way too common and happening to many others.
When I sold my last EV (private sale), it had 28k miles on the original tires and...
How many miles on the car? I would have thought the tread depth would be worn out before dry rot. Also, $2230 seems like a very reasonable price for 4 tires.
I don't need tires (yet), but I was assuming it would cost way more to get Taycan tires replaced.
