The J1.2 doesn't have nearly the same bottom buffer that J1 offered. There was a YouTube video a while back and I don't remember exactly, but I think they could only go like another ~6-miles or something once the J1.2 battery was depleted showing 0%.
I am taking the car in to fix problems with Porsche Connect, and they said WSQ7 was an open workshop for my VIN that I'll try and have them do at the same time. Actually, the problems with Porsche Connect are probably the reason *why* mine can't get this OTA if others have gotten it that way...
Ah, yes.
We don't have any NACS DC Fast Chargers around here except for the Tesla SC network. But, yes as more DCFCs are rolled out with the NACS interface, I would expect the Porsche adapter to work on any of them.
SuperCharger only
There is a different adapter you can get that will allow a Taycan to charge at an L2 Tesla charger. Tesla often calls these "destination chargers". The Tesla app makes it clear which is which.
Your title says keyless entry, but email screenshot says you are looking for comfort access?
Keyless entry is via the My Porsche app.
Comfort access on the J1.2 is active ride raises the car a few inches when a door opens.
I don’t know how comfort access works on J1 cars, air suspension, I...
This is exactly what it is. Not just Porsche, but all EVs are rolling computers.
But its not a centralized OS like in your laptop, instead there are a few dozen modules each with their own software versions that must work together. Thus, software updates / dependencies are a real challenge...
Would you consider changing the title of this thread? For future people searching for helpful information, saying "...breaks warranty" in the title would be misleading based on the conversation that took place.
What doesn't work about CarScanner with J1.2? I don't use it very often, but the readings seemed accurate last time I did.
Also, ODBII is a standard interface required on all cars in the USA since the mid-90s. So if you buy an adapter, you can use the app for any car you may own.
This constraint that each 12V battery is "coded" to a specific car seems like a new low in shady tactics to require that even straightforward repairs cannot be done DIY.
Other than making sure the replacement battery is the correct spec, is there is any technical reason/advantage that coding a...
My experience matches yours exactly.
Someone needs to figure out the "new" reboot procedure since the two-finger-upper-right thing was removed from the PCM.
I can't believe they completely took away all capability to soft reboot from the screen.
Yep, found the post. As usual, forum search should be the first step, which I forgot to do.

The parts are different for J1 & J2, but I'm assuming the screw and location will be similar enough to follow these steps on...
3-years Porsche Connect is included with new purchase. I just double checked my account and it confirmed Porsche Connect is active until 2027 for my vehicle.
I saw a Fisker Ocean on the road like 1-2 months ago. It was missing a plastic trim piece over the wheel arch. Not like it was in an accident, it looked to have just fallen off.
I’m grateful the Taycan withstands these bitter cold temps we are having. Made several trips 50 mi+ in single...
I tried both suggested steps, but no change in restoring app connectivity. After re-installing the app, it did spin for a while "Updating...", but eventually just settled back to the 12/04 1:15AM as before.
When I "logged out" of the account in-car, that put me back in guest mode. And then...
I remember people saying Hyundai wouldn’t be around long enough to honor the 10-yr warranty, which sounded crazy at the time.
I’ve never had a Hyundai, but I guess they are reliable?
I had previously lost all connectivity in both the car and app. But a workshop update(Dec 2024) got me connected again.
The app has been useless for the past 2-months, but it used to say "Just updated". At least now its being truthful about not connecting to the Porsche cloud since early...
