Ah, not a Taycan post perse, but I thought it would be nice to share my experience of using an electric rental car in the Netherlands.
- It took me some time to install the right app to pay at most (all?) charging points since many of them require either residency in Europe or a European phone...
I just traded my 2020 volcano grey turbo with a 2020 Carrara white turbo S -- fortunately, the battery looks all balanced :) However, the "Batt-" shows only -1.8kOhm -- is that bad or acceptable? Edit: scrolling through this thread this seems quite normal :)
Well , look at it this way: once the initial issues are fixed you have the awesomest taycan out there :D
Can you post some pics? Is this the GT with the back seats?
Basic:
A high quality battery that gives a peace of mind it won't catch fire or need recalls
More reasonable battery replacement cost in line with the rest of the industry (under $25k)
No more 2 gears -- simplify and make it lighter and more robust
Allow an option to have non-perforated leather...
I got the same email too. It says to enable remote monitoring one needs to 1. Install the my Porsvhe app and 2. Disable privacy mode in the car PCM.
Now, I already have this (and I guess most people here) -- why do I get this email then instead of an email saying "we are monitoring your car...
Brrr, that Lexus design is so ugly -- and you see it a lot: they designed the dash board and then just slap a screen panel on it  I'm sure it will be cheaper for the manufacturer though ?
I wish the report was more concise :(
"Backing out of a parking space, the car automatically stopped as it should
when approaching a curb"
What does this mean? I guess "automatically" means he pressed the brake pedal and the car stopped?
Then, it sounds like the accelerator was pressed...
Again a fresh reading of my 2020 Turbo .. with initially one of the worst battery health readings (88.14%).. but it seems stable and slowly increasing :)
Seattle area,
1. unknown
2. 89.28% :)
3. 9200mi
4. ~600kwh
5. Turbo 2020 (maybe dec 2019 builddate)
Recently I have not fast charged...
Nice write-up, I also have a ("pinnacle") EQS and Taycan and I agree. The EQS is just super comfortable to drive, especially on longer drives -- silent and smooth. It has a ton of trunk space as well. and at night it looks wonderful with the ambient lighting -- a space ship :)
But then, the...
I think those are the even cooler PCCB (carbon composite instead of surface coated) brakes? I believe those are always 10 piston even for later years (not sure).
Just to add to this, the 2020 models with PSCB brakes (the white ones) have 10 piston brakes in front while the later ones (2021+) have smaller 6 piston ones. With mission-e wheels the former look quite a bit better in my opinion ?
Here are some pics from cars.com:
here is a 2020 turbo...
One problem is that the Taycan first slows down on regen so you have to brake hard to engage the actual brakes.
A trick you can use is to find a hill, and on the way down set the car in neutral so the brakes engage directly.
Yikes! I really hope this is not the case. For Porsche that would be not something that I would expect from the brand, and very disappointing ? hope they did better ..
(for example by also sending power over the signal cables to reduce the load on the main one. (The J+ booster for example...
I just installed a monochrome emblem too -- looks really great with my volcano grey 2020 taycan turbo (with silver mission-e wheels, white PSCB brakes, and clear side blinkers).
It was still a bit nerve wrecking for me to install the emblem -- why do they use these "speed nuts" instead of a...
From what I understand, having your son turn on the car fully is already enough -- it can't hurt to wait a bit while it's on to charge up the 12V battery (15 min should be enough) but the Taycan will already charge up the 12V battery from the HV battery automatically while it's off. The...
