It does light up. The brightness is also controllable in the PCM. I found it much easier to see the hands when the brightness is set to max (it isn’t by default). This might solve some people’s concerns about not being able to see the hands in the dark.
I’ve had it. Very rarely occurs (3 times in 2 years). Sound still actually worked though. Last time was in the dealership car park immediately after the handed the car over, so I could literally show them and they could diagnose while the message was displayed. They are replacing the actuator...
I would say the SD card in your dashcam has failed.
I also get that PCM message pretty much every time I turn the car off. Minorly annoying, just thought it was normal and I ignore it. It’s happened since the car was new. Not sure if that’s indicative of an issue.
Convenience mainly, particularly a ‘tethered’ type, where the cable is attached to the EVSE - just uncoil and plug in.
An EVSE must also have a current detector (‘CT clamp’) which monitors your overall house use and can scale back the charging rate to prevent overloads (eg if you turn on...
Also, to install an EVSE you have to do a DNO (electric network operator) notification. I believe (but not 100%) you won’t need to do that with a simple 32a commando, as it’s just a simple power outlet (as long as it’s installed by a NIC approved electrician who can provide the paperwork to the...
If you are renting, you could just have a 32a socket installed, then use the Porsche mobile charger (or any other mobile charger) then you can keep it and use it elsewhere. The PMC that came with my Taycan even included a wall mount. (Only challenge is the potential for someone to nick it, but...
GTS ST MY24 was my first EV and Porsche too!
I’m very similar to @Flying ace
Early days of ownership I used to frequently switch to auto-regen - the idea being that it’s good for just helping to maintain distance to the car in front, but I found (particularly in city driving) it would slow me...
If you have a compatible EVSE, I’d recommend Octopus Intelligent integrated to the that instead of the car. I have a MyEnergi Zappi and it works well (although Octopus have broken something recently which is causing charging plans to be descheduled but that’s a separate matter).
either with...
Interesting. I got the updated offered to mine just now. My car wasn’t under either ARB6 or ARB7 (no recalls showing). For me this update was described at WSH4, but appears to be exactly the same update.
For me I don’t have any issue with range or charging speed. The crux is the availability of chargers - either there needs to be enough quantity of chargers that I can rock up, charge and take as much time as I need (which puts the preference on range over charge speed), OR the charging needs to...
Seems to work well for me!

My Dad had an MGB GT too (my mother wrapped it round a lamp post)
Then it was a silver Jag XJS v12. Loved that car. It spent half its life having the engine taken apart and put back together!
