I thought I was the only one boring enough to think about this! I recently sold some investments in anticipation of delivery as well which seems to have been pushed back. As others have mentioned, I think of it as the cost of hedging against price volatility up to the delivery date. It ended up...
That sucks. Per a time sheet from my SA, my order was scheduled for production last Friday and completion tomorrow. That said, it hasn’t moved in TYD. I had just chalked that up to a buggy/lagged TYD, but I guess I’m going to be delayed as well. Will let others know if I hear anything.
Thanks. I read your initial thread and I got the sense that Porsche NA was able to reproduce the result at their facility and deemed it not worth fixing and “as designed”? How can a car not stopping be “as designed”. I might’ve misunderstood as I didn’t get that impression from your NHTSA...
Agreed - would love to know the dealer. If they were able to reproduce the problem on every Taycan, seems it should be doable for Porsche themselves too?
I’m surprised at the comments that the EQ series scream “look at me I have money”. I’d recently cross shopped the Taycan with an EQS and my son thought the EQS was a Corolla (he didn’t know what a Corolla is but he said it looks like his grandads car!). Pretty nondescript, especially in non-AMG...
This is awesome! I’ll check it out when I take delivery. Any chance the API allows you to start pre heating/cooling? Then I can creatr automations where pre heating/cooling occurs when I’m at home, and outdoor temp reaches a certain level.
Since I’m in north NJ; been thinking of Signature Detailing and Detailers Domain. Heard good things about both and am sure they’ll do a good job, but sometimes I’m still not sold on ppf. Mainly, if it can’t protect against anything more than a stone chip, it seems to be of limited function.
I’ve got a frozen berry CT4S incoming and really struggling to decide if I want ppf or not (never had it on a car before). I’m leaning towards yes, but also can’t decide if I want matte or glossy. Seems like if I get a full ppf, might be worth going matte to change up the look but can’t find any...
I’ve noticed a surplus of Taycans around too; even the dealer that wanted 20k down to be on a waitlist now has a gentian blue 4s in stock. I fully expect to take a bath on resale, but I’ve kept every car I’ve owned for 8+ years and fully intend to do so here. Spreading +\- 10% over 8 years is...
Thank you! I’ve been looking for photos forever. Any chance you can take photos in daylight of the screens? Wanted a better look before my order locks!
They told me it’s a waitlist for an allocation. Definitely not locking in an allocation at this point which is what confused me as they said the high deposit is needed to essentially hedge my unusual build; to which I responded why would it matter if I don’t have an allocation yet! I never...
Hi - anyone have experience with ordering at Porsche Englewood in NJ? Team seems pleasant but they’re asking for a refundable 10-15% deposit just to get on the waiting list for a 4S CT.
I don’t mind paying a deposit and appreciate the need for some “skin in the game” but that’s $20k tied up...
I think the watch analogy is best. The Kia I’m sure is a great EV that looks awesome to boot. But there’s something emotional to the purchase that the Taycan scratches (or will scratch for me, hopefully). In that case the Kia is like a Seiko Monster or other affordable and desirable mech watches...
