  1. Great regen after brake flush

You will be surprised how many so-called professional reviewers got it wrong as well and were cluelessly crowing about the Taycan’s “weak regen” and how Tesla was superior. I have a Tesla rental right now and absolutely hate the golf cart style one pedal driving where it aggressively slows down...
  2. Leaking left rear tire

As others have said, this is a super easy patch up and probably the cheapest repair you can do for your Taycan. I had a similar slow leak and didn’t need a new tire.
  3. Recommendations for Body shops in the California Bay Area

they were my next choice but farther away from me. Spoke to Bill and Omar there.
  4. Recommendations for Body shops in the California Bay Area

I haven't settled the claim yet and signed anything. The other party's insurance accepted liability and stated in writing that their driver is 100% at fault. That's where we are at right now.
  5. Recommendations for Body shops in the California Bay Area

n00b q. (I have never gotten a traffic ticket, leave alone being in such an accident): How does one get insurance to compensate for diminished value? Any tips appreciated.
  6. Recommendations for Body shops in the California Bay Area

Thanks for all the suggestions. Have sent the car to German Auto Body Santa Clara.
  7. Recommendations for Body shops in the California Bay Area

Cool! Will call 'em up (I can see that they are pricey but have great reviews) and I have also reached out to the other ones in the list (some have not-so-great reviews).
  8. Recommendations for Body shops in the California Bay Area

Thanks, Dave. Really appreciate it, as always. :-) Will give them a call. Do you know if they have worked on Taycans?
  9. Recommendations for Body shops in the California Bay Area

Any body shops in the California Bay Area which are certified to do collision repair for Taycans? An idiot banged into my right hand side rear door while trying to make an unprotected left turn thru dense traffic. Their insurance has accepted liability and suggested a few body shops but I want...
  10. Any recommended independent Porsche mechanics in South Bay who are experienced on Taycans?

Thanks! Went to BR Racing Los Gatos. Pretty efficient, no nonsense, and actually lower cost than the dealership. Plus lot of fancy eye candy on 4 wheels parked around. 😁
  11. Any recommended independent Porsche mechanics in South Bay who are experienced on Taycans?

Anybody have recommendations for independent Porsche service/repair shops in the South Bay (Santa Clara, Saratoga, Los Gatos, San Jose etc.) who have experience working on Taycans and have proven trustworthy? Thanks!
  12. My Taycan is broken, need to return it

It sure was a different bay area back then. In my case, some dude was leaning the way over his wife (who was driving) trying to take a pic of the Taycan and ended up accidentally honking the horn. The only time the car got female attention was when a well dressed lady old enough to be my mom...
  13. Major Taycan accomplishment thanks to this forum 🛒

Costco parking lots are great places to convert wannabe Plaid owners to the Taycan, at least in the California Bay Area. I have cleaned my daughter’s poopie diapers plenty of times on the Taycan backseat. It’s a 4 door family saloon for God’s sakes, not a 2-door girlfriend on wheels. Let it live...
  14. ChargePoint HomeFlex Charger with 2022 Taycan

Thanks to Dave and other forum members, I have only used ChargePoint Flex for my home charging @40A with 50A breaker (Taycan 4S with PB+). Works like a charm everytime. My Porsche Mobile Charger is still sitting on the shelf in its original shrink wrap packaging.
  15. An honest review after 6 weeks of ownership...

Oh and regen only kicks in for real once your newly purchased Taycan’s brakes settle (around the 1000 mile mark I am told).
  16. An honest review after 6 weeks of ownership...

Haven’t driven the iX3 but it may have regen like Tesla (activated when lifting foot off the accelerator). Porsche on the other hand blends in regen during brake pedal use for a more natural driving experience (and that regen is powerful). You cannot turn off that regen and it’s always on. Funny...
  17. An honest review after 6 weeks of ownership...

the other regen is the main regen (always on) and kicks in when you use the brake pedal. Porsche designed it such that regen is blended in with conventional braking when using the brake pedal, for a more natural driving experience.
  18. An honest review after 6 weeks of ownership...

The regen from brake pedal is always on (you cannot turn it off) and Porsche already has much stronger regen than any other EV. The “auto regen” you are referring to only turns on/off the regen that takes place when you lift your foot off the accelerator. Unless you prefer one-foot driving like...
  19. I am genuinely shocked by how much attention this car attracts on a daily basis.

Mostly the car doesn’t get much attention in the California Bay Area. Few weeks ago, had a lady walk up to me while I was sitting in the car in a Costco parking lot. She wanted to ask whether the Taycan was a better car than the Tesla Plaid (which her husband owned and was heavily recommending...
