I think if your not worried, you aren't paying attention to whats going on here
the answer is not to drive an old analog car or a non-EV like a luddite
this will only become more of an issue in the future and consumers will have to become more technically aware and sophisticated in how they deal...
surprised someone hasn't figured out a way to disconnect the LTE antenna (and replace it with a resistor to avoid an error massage) or just code out the 2 way data?
I think we would lose built-in NAV which from how agonizingly slow it is, seems to be querying a remote database for every...
I dont even think we know what, if any evidence has been presented that an EV caused it:
"The plaintiffs claim that the fire originated from the lithium-ion battery of a Porsche model and allege VW failed to inform them of the danger and necessary precautions needed to transport such vehicles...
what the heck happened to Mamba Green???
It was the press car color for the CT4 and a 1st tier upgrade choice in 2021/22
now it's not even a $13k PTS selection?
Would someone have to pay $20k+ or whatever the crazy cost is for the PTS+ to get a '25 Mamba?
One of the problems here is the traditional dealership arrangement. At least in the US, they very much do not like EVs. They are afraid that their service department revenue will shrink. Porsche has obliged their dealers by, among other things, making module replacement and resetting the regular...
people are not stealing cars with the Flipper Zero. It does not defeat rolling code security. Some intern in Ottawa probably came up with this ban. Makes them look like somewhat less than a sophisticated first-world national government.
so we only had the little reflective blank plates under there. Car did NOT come with any sort of puddle lights from the factory. However, the wire harness is still in the door. The harness goes all the way to the power distribution center so it is wired up to the car, but the logic to provide...
FYI it was my experience with our CT4 which did not have lights there under the doors, that we had to code the puddle lights with PIWIS. The plug and harness were in the doors but no voltage on them until coded.
profit for the dealer is the theme here
they will quote as much as they think they can get away with
Would venture to say that Taycan owners in Southern California less likely to be DIY'ers than owners of other brands in other geographical areas, and the dealers know it.
Otherwise, find an...
I was lamenting how PIWIS is necessary just for basic maintenance:
https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/reset-service-reminders-update-last-service-date-with-piwis-iii.17887/
I have access to one, and I have to say its a bit intimidating (at least in engineering mode) you can really mess...
Id like to own one but im afraid the economics are far out of whack for regular Taycan owners such as ourselves who would just use it a once or twice every couple of years for DIY, checking the SoH, or whathave you. Have you looked into getting one yourself? Prices are all over the place but are...
I was able to use the PIWIS again and got it figured out this time. You have to select diagnostics, connect to the car, then select “Instrument Cluster (004)”, then finally “Maintenance repairs”:
At that point you will be presented with the “Resetting maintenance interval”...
Success! Thank you
But cant do the same thing to clear “replace brake fluid” which it shows due in a few days so unless we figure this out, we will be getting a popup on the cluster soon :(
I really dont know how to use it and am a bit afraid to mess anything up on the car. Ill try to see if I can find that menu option next time I get access to it. There are TONS of different menus, some in german (I had to use Google translate).
Hopefully someone here who knows their way around...
We've already done the very straightforward 2 year service ourselves based on time, before getting any reminder from the car.
Concerned the car will soon pop up the service reminder. We have access to a PIWIS III in fact we played around with it for a bit, but could not find where / how to...
apologies if I missed it, but what is the build date / VIN range that are being replaced?
We asked and were told today that our '22 CT4 "is not on list of vehicles that is in need of replacement"
In the U.S. there is another reason so many “light trucks” are manufactured as compared to "passenger cars":

Not very useful. Wish that could be turned off. This software makes one not very excited for future Porsche EV offerings. Macan EV reportedly delayed at least a year due to software...
