I was torn until the last moment. I did take delivery on Friday, after my car finally got off the port and to the dealer. No regrets! Especially when being served with recall notices for my model year 22 just this past week. Already seeing the minor tweaks, they’ve done internally to things as...
Great points above. I don’t plan to keep the car for more than three years. And the dealer has confirmed there’s no way that I come close to 22K off on the 2025.
OK. Need some advice. I wandered into a dealership a few weeks ago for my two year service and was offered a pull ahead on my current lease and about $22,000 off RWD my dealer had coming in. I decided to take them up on it. Unfortunately, that car has been sitting at the port for several weeks...
That piano black is like butter. I had this on my 2022 Taycan, which I only made worse by trying to correct it myself. I took it to a professional, who put PPF on it after some paint correction work and now it’s better then new. Have a new one arriving in a week and plan to get that panel PPFd...
Last roadtrip (Feb), with ~60 degree F ambient temps, my Taycan RWD 79.2 kWH batter was giving me ~245 miles of range on a 100% charge. This past week, on the exact same route, with ~85 degree weather, car registered 270 miles of range when I unplugged it but immediately went down to 230 miles...
Count me as one of the folks who walked away. Loved my 2016 M3 and 2019 M2...the new design dna is fugly enough that I refuse to look back. And I've had some BMW or another for 20 straight years.
To ask a related question, I received a email saying I needed to come in for WNA5: The "power electronics and engine electronics (DME) software" fix but when I check on the recall site and on the My Porsche app, it lists no recalls on my vehicle. Which do I trust?
Newer owner (picked my car up in Nov) and, having taken my first extended trip in the car this past weekend, noticing that I get dramatic variances based on driving style, mode and ambient temperature. Car is averaging 2.6mi/kWh in total, to-date. So not that dissimilar to your average. Having...
Just went through this. Short answer = paint correction and PPF worked for me. I tried polishing it myself, only made it worse. Full journey here: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/scratches-on-black-gloss-interior-trim-above-glovebox.8147/page-2#post-130048
Quick update. Took it to a XPEL installer. Multi stage paint correction + PPF = better than new, as it looks factory fresh and I am far less stressed about that buttery soft material going forward.
I do think they'd be better served swapping that out. I had a black brushed aluminum set of inserts above the glovebox, doors, etc. on my Macan GTS. Durable. Easy to maintain. Looked fantastic. Didn't see those as an option when I ordered this car ;(
I used Novus 2 for minor scratches and then went back over it with 1. The folks I took it too didn't express any concerns about correcting the issue and the PPF overtop should help that buttery soft panel from getting scratched again. You're right though, a new part shouldn't be crazy expensive...
As promised. Quick update. I tried the Novus. Chalk it up to user error but it made the problem far, far worse. The car is now sitting a PPF installer who is going to polish her up and then apply ppf on all of the glossy black bits inside.
