Car Secutiry Package - worth £269?

Admiral Multi car Not paying for the Tracker would stop Vodafone pestering you which is good. They are difficult to nick even without a tracker unless you are a dick with keys etc. I would definitely not want Comfort Access with no tracker. A moments lack of concentration and someone could jump...

    Rear tyre wear

I cannot imagine how they could be as bad, let alone worse. They must last longer. The Pirelli’s are wearing out at the front in 12,000 miles in gentle driving. Perhaps the Good Years are less good on dry track handling but that is irrelevant to most. I can’t imagine the Good Years...

    Rear tyre wear

This is my report at 13,600 miles. The front passenger tyre was replaced due to side wall damage so has only done about 5000 miles. Fronts have worn worse like most people report here. Also outside corners worse than the inside. Fairly even though? You can see how gently it has been driven...

The Pirellis are crap This is an excellent video by the excellent Tyre Reviews - Google it. TYRE REVIEWS - Is Bespoke Always Best? OE vs. Aftermarket Tyres I was a big supporter of OE Tyres Not any more This video explains that OE tyres are always optimised for dry grip because the reviewers...

    Power Steering Plus

Yes, spot on, I knew this but my post was misleading PSP will NOT stop the lovely Ackermans I was just saying after 20' wheels being lovely without PSP the rude awakening of 21' wheels having to tug on the steering wheel at low speed COMBINED with the Ackermans was horrible. Addition of PSP...

    Power Steering Plus

Depends on wheel size Graeme. You cannot try PSP for 3 months unlike the other more expensive options such as Comfort Access, Innodrive or ALK. It is available as an outright purchase only. I paid £300. Annoying as it was £200 factory option. It is quite subtle, I didnt have it on a 4S with 20s...

    40K Service Brake Pads

If the car has been stationary for about 12 hours the first 2 or 3 braking actions are 100% mechanical to skim the discs to remove stuff for safety should emergency braking be needed. You can accelerate up to as fast as you like and stamp on the pedal. That will heat them up and bed them in.

Do NOT crack your panoramic glass!

To prove this I have just checked the Macan EV forum and no one is having faults with their car yet. This is proof it is a much better car than the Taycan

Anyone seen any Porsche Finance PCP final value/payment figures for the refresh Taycan yet?

Porsche are shifting production to the Macan. The price difference is ludicrous when considering it is the same amount of ‘car’ Weight, battery, mechanicals, wheels etc. Just a different shape. Dealers are taking 10-20 deposits for the new Macan for every new Taycan deposit. The Taycan will...

Anyone seen any Porsche Finance PCP final value/payment figures for the refresh Taycan yet?

Here are Uk finance examples. It certainly is not 66% retained value any more!! Porsche know Taycan 2 will depreciate worse than EV Macan. MUCH worse than Taycan 1 Here I am cross shopping between Mac 4 and Taycan CT4 10,000 miles 3 years finance deal Taycan 47% retained value Macan 52%...

    Driving in Europe

I have been to the Alps and back in a Taycan from Rotterdam. No problem Mostly Ionity at 30p - Dont sweat the odd 80p charge if the journey is easier. Dont sweat the odd time if there is a bit of queue. Relax Enjoy this trip. Because it is a trip. S Express in a Taycan. Have fun

    Heating Failure

HEATER UPDATE Excellent service from my dealer. Rang them yesterday (forgot Monday) I am going on holiday tomorrow for 2 weeks and they are taking my car in and doing it while I am away. (no loaner needed and probably not one available at such short notice but still good service) They have the...

    Heating Failure

My heater died yesterday. I thought my car was safe. ☹️ It’s an early GTS. Delivered May 2022. I thought my heater was one of the newer ones and I have not had any recall. Essentially it’s more of a MY23 as it didn’t need the massive software upgrade but I think it is officially MY22 Anyone...

    Battery level at destination

Looks like default setting is 25%. Stupid as at least 50% of your journeys are to home where you have charging so why the **** would you need 25%. Leave Porsche charge planning ticked. Too useful to me and I don’t want to forget to turn it back on. Turn down minimum charge at destination to...

    Battery level at destination

There is a setting in Nav that says ‘Required charge at destination’ This is default at about 20% I think. I was 10 miles from home when I first got my car and the Sat Nav was trying to send me 10 miles beyond my house to charge for 20 mins and then drive 10 miles back home. You need to set...

    Help me - I’m Scared!!?!

It is not the main reason but it is part of the big picture, like cheaper servicing, added to the huge tax incentives. It is so sweet paying 3p per mile for fuel rather than 35p per mile. I am Octopus too. Ionity with the Porsche contract is only 4x the cost at 30p. Others are 10x the cost...

    Help me - I’m Scared!!?!

You are right. it’s much cheaper. I have done 50,000 electric miles in the last 4 years in Audi Etron and 2 Taycans. Petrol is £7 a gallon in UK ($9ish!!) 20mpg in an RS6 would cost £17,500 99% of my Charging is at 7p per kw hr Occasional Ionity 30p or even very occasional Shell at 70p...

    Longer Journey Advice

200 is easy, even in the cold, especially if preheated, just back off the go pedal a bit! (Heavy rain really effs this up with 21 in wheels. like driving a snowplough) 250 easy in summer (no rain) Depends if you have destination charging. If I did I would definitely back off a bit, take 5 mins...
