I had a similar shock when i learned that here in the US, my Rivian R1T insurance underwriter called Nationwide, wanted some crazy amount of around $8k for my Turbo S and then State Farm about $3K--go figure.

Admiral offered me a discount for multi-car insurance. When i told them I had a Range Rover, they offered me about £200 cheaper on the Taycan and about £5k more on the RR was with direct line....

From what I have seen of the insurance market in UK recently it seems you have the ‘Golden Combo’ of Range Rover and Taycan.

I park off road in BL1 in a locked garage. Still get clubbed.
Probably be cheaper if I kept my cars parked overnight on the street in Gaza.

I hope you can get your cars off the street.
Do you have Comfort Access on the Taycan?
The villains could bring a transporter and wirelessly relay unlock both cars with a scanner
and have them in Eastern Europe in 36 hrs (or Streatham)

I've just had my renewal quotes through - £1181 last year from Churchill was the best (£1150 excess) (incl legal, courtesy car, protected NCB, windscreen) and £938 this year from admiral (£425 excess)

£630 for my Taycan Turbo with Admiral this week. Prices have gone up a lot had BMW i4 M50 before and last years price was £360 and paid £620 this year.

Mercedes EQC quotes £1400 to £1700
Audi Etron £1100 to £1400

Admiral are listed as providers on all 4 price comparison sites but they are
not quoting at all for EQC or Etron. Never mind a Taycan

I just do NOT understand what the actuaries are up to with their algorithms

I do have 2 problems.
My postcode is BL1. Higher risk and pricier compared to posh OX28 where I used to be
and it appears, rural, crime-free Scotland!
Also I reversed into a skip doing £6500 damage to the Etron in 2021.
Nothing else, convictions etc

Whatever the situation I just cant understand the enormous difference in quotes between
the Etron/EQC and the massive reluctance to insure a Taycan

Very few people have a garage large enough for a Taycan!

Just renewed mine. Priviledge refused to re-cover. Now with the AA for <1000.

That’s fully comp on a Turbo inc. business mileage.(12k overall/yr).

I must be considered ‘low risk’

And finally.....

Every time I renew the renewal price has gone up and I do all the comparison sites.

I jumped the gun this year by doing comparison sights BEFORE getting renewal price. Where I got mad £8000 Taycan renewal quote.

Best was 1200 on Audi and 1500 on Mercedes.
Mercedes more expensive than Audi on all sites.
Admiral did not even quote on any comparison site.

THEN

Renewal quote arrives from Admiral…
Audi £950
Mercedes £650
An enormous, unexpected, pleasant surprise.
I have accepted this offer!

This is the first time in decades that my renewal quote has been cheaper than the comparison sites.

How insurance companies work is a complete mystery.
Audi is 4 yrs old and worth half as much as the 4 month old Merc.

£896 via Admiral for my GTS ST this morning.

Gocompare clearly doesn't have insurers who want to cover the Taycan hence the comedy pricing.

I found the multi car cover with Admiral was the cheapest for me too. There was a condition in that I had to have a tracker fitted but the chances are I would have done that anyway
