On the day I was driving to a scheduled Porsche service, I got a bunch of random headlight fault messages, and a "Power button error, service necessary" that persisted till I got to the dealership. They had my car for 2 weeks now, and just told me they can't figure out what's wrong or how to get...
I had experienced a partial power loss just today (2021 4S with uPdate). All of a sudden, started going at a light, and acceleration was a lot more sluggish than usual. Then, the car barely made it going up a steep hill, and then, when I pretty much floored the pedal, car jerked and barely was...
Was this leaked on purpose to keep up the current demand? Definitely looks too uninteresting, and too much like Panamera. If they flatten the headlights like this, it will be really sad sad sad.
This is exactly what I observed - the plug had two hotspots that reached 104C/220F after 1 hour at 100% - that's above water boiling temperature!! When I complained to the dealer, they pointed back at my wiring. Yeah.. right. Since then, I got the J+ Booster 2, and its plug is barely warm...
I checked the Mustart just now.. at 1/2 the cost of J+ Booster, it looks a lot less rugged, and people complain about it breaking after a few months. Also their certifications are missing of fake?
I just took out the Porsche charger, installed the J+ Booster's charger bracket, which is quite simple, but it works well. It's upside down, because it allows me to manage the cable better. I also used a couple of utility hooks - one for the cable, and the other for the carrying case (which is...
After having dangerously high heat issues with the Porsche Mobile charger that came with the car, when NEMA 14-50 plug hotspots reached 104.3C (220F) after an hour at 100% power:
That is water-boiling temperature - so if were to grab the plug at this time, it'll burn your skin in seconds.
I...
It was their "improvement" push most likely. I see stations now, but don't see any improvement. Station availability is wrong, and the pricing info just shows $1 per kWh. Awww.. good old EA, overpromise and underdeliver.
EA charging stations run Windows 7. Let me repeat. EA charging stations run Windows 7. What else can you expect from a tech company that put all their chips on the 15 year old computer technology????
As of yesterday, the My Porsche app for Android shows NO charging stations on the map. So, I cannot select one to initiate charging. Has anyone else seen this?
It's quite simple - a plugged car at 100% is not charging. Parking at EV stalls is only allowed when charging, and violations are subject to ticketing and towing.
If there is a non-charging car and you can get around it to plug in, it's your right to use it. A jerk who is hogging a stall should...
I am so glad I purchased the tire/wheel protection plan with the car in July 2021. Porsche dealerships have been great at honoring the replacements, quickly and graciously - both Porsche Riverside and Porsche Irvine, CA. Each replacement would cost from around $550 (front) to $650 (rear)
1st...
I think I've seen that thread a while ago. What exactly is the suggestion? I literally tried two 350kW stations - both gave me 65kW max. Then switched to a 150kW station, which became available, and got 130+kW right from the start. The only thing that changed was the charging station type. And...
Every time I use a 350kW EA station, I get the slowest charging speed at 65kW. And at 150kW stations, I frequently see 170+kW. What the fuсk is wrong with EA????? This is infuriating. There are places with only 350kW chargers. I am at one right now.
A much more needed change would be to change the LED lights from green to smth else for stations that are not in service... so that you wouldn't drive up, and only then see the red bricks on the screen.
But of course, they won't do it, because of the "optics"... too embarassing to admit their...
