(FYI: I'm in California) I finally finished a home charger set up. It took a while to plan it all out. The primary challenge was to find a good location, and then the path for the new cable, and then to pull it though. I didn't want to hire an electrician, since I wanted it be done exactly right...
What is most frustrating for me, is that Porsche stopped updating the "old" app for at least 6 months.. and that would be fine, knowing that they were working on a "new" one.....
BUT they just replaced a turd with a sh*t sandwich.
I would expect some heads to roll in their software department...
It doesn't take long to find examples of major issues:

Porsche recently migrated users from the OLD "Porsche Connect" app to the highly-anticipated NEW "My Porsche" app.
In summary:
Old "Porsche Connect" ended its run at 3.2 stars (Android) and 4 stars (iOS)

Press where the pink dots are, and screen will go dark after a second. Then, choose the last option, and confirm. It will reboot, starting with the PORSCHE logo.
With regard to PCM rebooting - I never had that (had tons of other glitches though). The opposite problem also exists - the "Shut down PCM" doesn't do *anything* beside turning off the screen. To reboot it, I've learned the two-finger trick to enter/leave Engineering mode, which takes 2-3...
It's actually surprising to hear so many positive testimonies. I literally just 5 minutes ago stepped outside to put my car into garage, and it gave me the usual "subscription changed", "check SiriusXM antenna", and then boom -- "Park Assist not available, service necessary, blah-blah-blah" and...
AutoRegen is wonderful, and I think it should have been the default. At least, it should be remembered next time car is turned on. Essentially, when you approach another car from behind, re-gen is applied just enough to slow you down and keep safe distance from that car in front - all without...
As they say, your experience may differ. At least, I'm thankful that I haven't had any SERIOUS issues, like with the battery/powertrain - so the car has been frustrating and disappointing as a daily driver, but it's been a reliable vehicle in terms of getting me from point A to point B - fast...
I had "key not detected" a few times as well. As a loaner, they gave me a Cayenne, and then, a Macan of recent model years, and I instantly recognized the "Porsche software DNA" - convoluted and clunky. I even was able to get the screen to lock up just by using the PCM normally before driving...
That's a really good question. Hypothetically, I would have waited longer to see. Now knowing the pathetic state of software at Porsche, I would NOT recommend this car to anyone for *normal use*, as a daily driver. Maybe for racing or special use, like short-term luxury rental.
By the way...
That I understand. It's just such a niche scenario that I am puzzled why it exists. The 100% accurate location also seems dubious - every time I open the Connect app at a charging station, it "thinks" the car is still parked at home. On the other hand, the Valet mode is something I would have...
I've owned a Taycan 4S since mid-July 2021 and put on 10K miles. Here is my experience.
The great/good:
- *Dealerships*. Since I bought at a remote dealership, I went to a closer dealership for service, and both have been professional and easy to interact with.
- *Driving*. Car handles...
