I didn't ask for your advice. If it was easy to invoke the lemon law, I would do it. But it's not. I looked into it.
This thread is specifically about how the VW CEO got fired because of failing to deliver reliable PCM software & services. So, your anecdotal evidence of your car working great...
If you got a "lemon", you'd be singing a very different tune, I'm sure of it. And your arrogance is off the charts, especially considering the energy you are putting into positive PR spin for Porsche in these forums. Are you getting at least paid? If not, you are a chump.
So I have a MY 2021 4S and for the first couple months, I had experienced a new glitch every other day - no kidding. Anything from charging failures, to random error messages, navigation problems, camera failures, unresponsive UI, loss of favorites, inability to use driver profiles, connectivity...
Totally agree. The amount of glitches combined with lack of timely updates/fixes is beyond belief. Sacking the CEO will do nothing, unless drastic changes are made to how they treat software engineering. It simply cannot be detached as a subsidiary, and function as a bunch of contracts. Quality...
UPDATED WITH OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE:
2023 model year software status for all Taycan variants
20/07/2022
Worldwide, more than 75,000 examples of the Taycan have been delivered since Porsche introduced its first all-electric sports car at the end of 2019. Now, a comprehensive update is on the...
Yes, I also checked with the thermal camera -- all parts of the receptacle are barely warm. The main source of heat is the plug assembly, and of course, the heat dissipates via blades into the receptacle, and the other direction toward the charger.
I've seen that thread.
It shows the high temp at the 14-50 plug and short cable, and it puts blame at the inadequate cable gauge. According to my thermal image, the hot spots are INSIDE THE PLUG - meaning, where the cable wires are attached to the blades - that's where the largest amount of...
I have a standard Porsche charger (w/o LED display) and I've been using it a few times to charge at at home. I have two questions:
- The circuit is 50A, but the maximum charging power I've seen is only 8.67 kW, or ~36A - why is it not at least 40A?
- The NEMA 14-50 plug gets extremely hot -...
Dropping to 5-6% at each stop could be nerve-wrecking. In my experience, the built-in planner could be wrong by +/- 10% and once SOC drops below 10%, you better be really close to a charging station.
I've had over a dozen different PCM glitches over past year (recurring at different rates), and you know what.. screw Porsche for not patching these. Some ppl claim they had ZERO issues, good for them. If the non-glitchy PCM software exists, why can't Porsche roll it out to EVERYONE? ?
I've experienced the rear-camera and the 360-degree view malfunction numerous times, and I brought it up to the dealer. So, it's great that finally there is some traction on fixing this problem. The VIN lookup tool doesn't show my car though yet, so we'll see how long it takes to actually get it...
⭐ 1.7 stars... the whole fking mobile+PCM software team should be fired in shame. "We hope you enjoy using the My Porsche app as your digital companion." -- I give them 5 clowns ?????
