Bump price drop. Will be the last one before I go list elsewhere. Was hoping to give this beauty someone in this wondering Taycanforum which I have been a member of since almost day 1!
It's time for me to sell this amazing car. I have had it since end of December 2021.
We are expecting kiddo number 3 in a couple of months, so this car needs to replaced with something that can handle 3 car seats.
Before I list it on Cars and Bids it would be great to list it for the Taycan...
Some of the issues were not software related. I called customer service and they recommended I take it in. Not all software issues require taking the car in to service, some of mine did though.
Also taking the car in leaves a paper trail and gives ammo against the manufacturer if they need to...
Number 2 is being handled as warranty by my dealer and Porsche Customer service North America. It's ongoing, I am dropping my car off for the 3rd time in 3 months of ownership for software / PCM related issues as well as recalls and service bulletins that need to get done.
Number 3, if we as...
The article with the original release of PCM 6.0 is here:
https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/2022/products/porsche-communication-management-pcm-infotainment-system-update-27152.html
At the bottom it mentions who wrote the PR release, Janz Klonz.
Google search found his email address, its publicly...
Weird. That user interface and software version is older than some of our 2022s that were built between October and December. You have the same hardware version as ours.
Tesla does not do multiple updates per month. Neither does Apple of the iOS on iPhones. Not sure why that was being argued, when it comes to actual customer products, most do not do multiple releases per month.
I feel like you are talking in theory rather than being specific about the matter at hand with Porsche and this PCM infotainment issue.
So lets go backwards and let Tesla / Rivian etc be agile and iterative while the rest go back to old habits? There are pros and conts for both, but the pros...
Hmm I think this is Porsche’s only major PCM release in the last 12 to 18 months (or longer).
They have done minor patches within that period. Haven’t they? I could be wrong.
I can’t imagine this major release to be just about new features. My hope is that it addresses the random issues we...
I am a long time architect. On the point of divorcing the two, I can assure you every case is unique. They may be able to upgrade us to the new infotainment / pcm software without a hardware upgrade or they may not be able to. We do not know. My GUESS is they are attempting to release a version...
The topic is getting carried away in a debate between RAPID iteration agile and long cycle waterfall, this group is likely way off topic (cause we are making assumptions, we are outsiders, not Porsche insider / developers / PCM team members) and exaggerating how it applies to Porsche PCM SW and...
This is what mine shows. I have a 2022 Taycan CT4S. My vehicle completed production on November 5th 2021 and I took delivery of it later December.
Pathetic that the PCM upgrade of a 1 month old 2022 car is in question!!!
