Resurrecting this old thread.

Has anyone received a Taycan with the colored icons yet (new version of PCM6)??

if the true cutover date was 24JA some people should be receiving them by now…

Just had my central computer replaced two days ago, it is not the new "PAD" serial number version hardware, and Porsche told me it ("PAD) is not available to upgrade into older (20,21, part of 22) models as of yet, if ever. I'd take that with a grain of salt though, so much is changing in the supply chain and the world that that may not be the case forever.

The article with the original release of PCM 6.0 is here:
https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/202...ent-pcm-infotainment-system-update-27152.html

At the bottom it mentions who wrote the PR release, Janz Klonz.

Google search found his email address, its publicly listed in Porsche's website as a point of contact for the public, meaning it is ok to email Janz.
https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/contact-and-information.html

My guess was to email the following Porsche people on this matter:
[email protected] - PR Specialist Connected Car & Future Technologies
[email protected] - Spokesperson Taycan & E-Mobility
[email protected] - Spokesperson Innovations
[email protected] (this is the US customer support email, you should change this to whatever the email address is for the customer support team for your country / region)

Porsche customer support has an open case for me on this matter. Jan, Mayk and Christoph have not responded (I wasn't expecting them to) but I think it is good for them to feel the heat.

In my email to Jan, Mayk, Christoph and Porsche Customer Support (US), I linked and referenced this forum and all the people up in arms and fed up with this PCM 6 debacle.

I have 2022 Taycan CT4S, I ordered it, it was delivered to me on December 18th 2021, and it has been to the dealership 3 times for various PCM software bugs and issues!

I highly recommend ya'll email them. Make em feel the heat. It's a legitimate issue they need to address quickly and get back to all of us on!

1. I have emailed people in Germany in the past and the reply I got was to work with people at Porsche US (corporate, not the dealer).
2. There are two different issues here. The first is that some people like you are having issues with their car. That clearly needs to be fixed.
3. The second issue is that some people are hoping that they would get the PCM 6.0 upgrade. I think that is far less likely to happen in the near future, especially given the previous point.

good luck with getting your PCM straightened out.

Why did you take it to service for software bugs? They can't do anything but replace the PCM (which won't help)

Number 2 is being handled as warranty by my dealer and Porsche Customer service North America. It's ongoing, I am dropping my car off for the 3rd time in 3 months of ownership for software / PCM related issues as well as recalls and service bulletins that need to get done.

Number 3, if we as pre PCM6 owners of the Taycan were to get this update, in theory this should address the PCM / SW instability we see with our Taycans. A large number of Porsche customers calling in about this matter would. In fact the Porsche Customer Service North America folks I spoke to (and I have spoken to 3 people and one manager) were unaware of the PCM 6 release. They understood the rationale as to why we should expect to get this update, but the manager I am working with was saying they have not seen many people or cases opened related to this. I encourage ya'll to call in and press them on this given not enough people have called in about it.

Some of the issues were not software related. I called customer service and they recommended I take it in. Not all software issues require taking the car in to service, some of mine did though.

Also taking the car in leaves a paper trail and gives ammo against the manufacturer if they need to make customers whole on these matters. Opening a case and calling in the bugs by itself helps, but a case call in and drop off to a dealer is even better IMO. It gets the point across. For me, the customer service manager asked how many days I had the PCM issues, how many visits to the dealership for these issues, how long the car was at the dealer, with all that info it gave ammo to this customer service manager to escalate my case to upper management who is reviewing the case.

So, with no responses to my original question (scary) let me reverse the question.

Has anyone received a car built after January 24th at all?

Early on we thought the update for other cars would be available week 7, and the cutover for newly built cars was when the announcement was made (mid-January).

I think now we have to conclude that the cutover for newly built cars is week 7, and the update is either a long way out or never going to happen at all.

I just received my car....and...although my VIN-number stated that my car had the PAD mainunit. After checking in the PCM settings menu...it states that the system has a 9J1 035 070 AG mainunit!

This probaly means that the whole PAD partnumber-thing is irrelevant. Atleast in regards to it being a possible major hardware update.

EDIT: Car is produced 24.01.2022 and has PCM SW version 3613.

Thanks for the update @Ipher. Since you were nice enough to check mine a while back, I guess mine would be the same. I am not too worried though since my SA has confirmed to me that the '22s will get the PCM update. But, even if it's not, as long as the PCM works I am ok with that too. I just want to get the car...3 more long weeks.
