I just installed a monochrome emblem too -- looks really great with my volcano grey 2020 taycan turbo (with silver mission-e wheels, white PSCB brakes, and clear side blinkers).
It was still a bit nerve wrecking for me to install the emblem -- why do they use these "speed nuts" instead of a...
From what I understand, having your son turn on the car fully is already enough -- it can't hurt to wait a bit while it's on to charge up the 12V battery (15 min should be enough) but the Taycan will already charge up the 12V battery from the HV battery automatically while it's off. The...
That would be great! I happen to have a mercedes EQS as well and the suspension is super comfortable, on a cloud, really nice feeling. The taycan is stiffer, sportier -- still very comfortable compared to many other cars but the mercedes EQS is on another level. My hope is that with PAR the...
I found some photos on cars.com. here is a 2020 turbo:

And here a 2021 turbo:

Pretty significant difference (at least for the PSCB brakes). 😀
Ah, but it *is* a big difference -- but only with the PSCB brakes :) I think for the PCCB brakes there is only a small difference (as you say). I'll try to find some photos if I have time later
And sometimes things get worse.. for example, I love the look of the big 10-piston PSCB front brakes that my 2020 turbo has (especially with the open mission-e wheels), while for the later years the front brakes have been made quite a bit smaller (6 piston).
Ah, the article was actually quite interesting with some diagrams I did not see before:
It's a bit disappointing to see this in the Taycan but on the other hand I have not read about any particular problems with it (which may also be due to the much lower pressure these cooling systems work...
Pff, I'm quite disappointed by the renewal price of $300+ per year 😕 on a $100k+ car ...
I just need to see the charge and pre heat/cool and it feels not good to pay so much to "subscribe" to such basic features :crying:
(But I did just renew, there is a small black Friday discount now)
Ah that is a bit disappointing.. but I guess also the reality in such remote locations.
At a first read I missed this, but nowI see how they managed to write this up so positively worded :p
"In the Kunlun and Tianshan mountains is a 760-km stretch of no-man's land, which the cars crossed in...
Hi all, here is an update on my "bad" previous reading from Dec 4, 2022, where the SOH was 88.14% with 5810 miles (Turbo 2020 model).
Now, Sep 9 2023, the SOH is 88.39% (!) with 8060 very happy miles. :)
Great, the SOH increased a bit ! I almost exclusively use fast charging to about 85%...
I am using an Ancel BM300 the works over blutooth. Works great and has a 30-day history.
It creates images like:
(well, without the annotations in red). The one above shows that initiating a pre-heat will recharge the battery -- so, if you are away many weeks, you may want to pre-heat the car...
I did a mini-test yesterday. For sure, a preheat will initiate a direct recharge of the 12V battery.
Here is a graph that shows an automatic recharge happened around 6.30h, and then later I initiated a preheat around 13.40h (and starting driving soon after):
Now, what we don't know for sure...
Ah, right. Preheating remotely might be like a start and thus recharge and give 8 fresh recharges. If that works that would be awesome -- no more worries to go on a looong vacation :-) not sure how to test this...
Well, I am currently trying to measure the voltage cut-offs and idle use based on the probable recharge behavior (see this post)
Let's assume the idle use of a Taycan is on average 0.15A (a wild guess! but maybe not too unreasonable, just a Blackvue dashcam uses about 0.3 to 0.4A by itself)...
Ah yes, I think I misread this and you are right. But what does it mean then that parking mode is recommended to be off for the taycan? Is it on for you?
