@featherless has done a load of testing - his recommendations here: (1) Interested in an unofficial Apple Watch app? | Page 56 | TaycanForum -- Porsche Taycan Owners, News, Discussions, Forums (I have a veepeak)

Solar install, batteries, exporting and ev tariffs

I was wondering that too. Seems like it’s a beta service only available in the South East currently: https://octopus.energy/power-ups/

Thule Edge Wingbar or Porsche roofbars for CT4?

I also have this setup - even the Gentian paint 😁 I’ve had the car 6 months and not actually needed to put them on yet - so nice to see what they’ll look like when I eventually do!

Does your old EVSE integrate with OI? I have a Zappi but don’t use it for its solar integration really. It’s connected to OI though. I find it much better to have the EVSE integrated with OI than the car - just works better, and would support more than one car too (plus some other sneaky...

GTS alcantara steering wheel dust on brushing

Just gave mine a brush. First time from new, now 4,500 miles. Plenty of white dust! Feels much softer now though, which is pleasing. Used a soft natural brush (Gyeon Alcantara cleaning brush).

Solar install, batteries, exporting and ev tariffs

Hi The PW2 is effectively totally independent of your solar and inverter. They sit side by side and can operate separately. Each can power your home and each can generate independently (so 8kW from inverter and 5kW from PW2 - 13kW total), which can be used by your house or exported. Of course...

    Auto-Blip!

I’ve seen it several times. It’s just evidence of the common software code across all PCM variations, coupled with some poor coding and slow hardware. It’ll just still be applying the feature masks as it starts up and you are too quick in to the settings, so it’s showing settings for an ICE car...

Solar install, batteries, exporting and ev tariffs

Note my panels are 60% SW and 40% NE facing (on a low pitch roof), so I’d never get to peak panel output anyway.

Solar install, batteries, exporting and ev tariffs

The DNO will always cap absolute peak theoretical output. So I can’t see how that is going to work. You cannot have any combination that would export more than 7kW. The PW is 5kW, but can be set to G98 mode, which will cap it to 3.6kW - which would completely cap its discharge AND charge rate to...

Solar install, batteries, exporting and ev tariffs

It’s normal for an inverter to be undersized compared to peak output from panels, as you’d not miss out on much (only the highest peaks get clipped) and it’s generally more efficient to run smaller inverters if possible. seems like a very very good price! it still looks like a massive...

Powerwall 2 is amazing. I love mine. It very cleverly optimises how it charges to ensure you just have enough battery to see you through, yet leave room for charging from solar if it predicts the weather will be good. We've found the most reliable weather forecast for the day ahead is how much...

Panoramic Roof With Variable Light Control

Some people on here have mentioned a clip-in sun shade, which I could imaging would be around 500x cheaper than retrofitting VLC :) I got my new GTS ST with VLC in October last year - I think it’s been non stop rain and cloud ever since. Looking forward to some form of sun to see how effective...

    Electric Logo on Taycan

I like mine. Many people don’t even realise Porsche make an electric car.

    Help me - I’m Scared!!?!

This is very similar to how I felt when I moved from my RS6 to a GTS ST. Although mine was the C7, so not quite as much power as the C8, so I think the GTS is a match in speed. I felt exactly the same about the top end feeling more lacking than the RS - like the electric motors were running out...

How much does it cost to replace PCCB brakes in Yellow?

In theory you should never need to replace PCCB discs or pads - they should outlive the car by a LONG way. Unless once gets damaged, then you answer is a LOT of $!

Do brake lights illuminate during auto-regen?

that’s my experience. Its never braked significantly under auto-recoup (but way more than normal recoup). I’ve watched the green recuperation bar and I’ve seen it swing to roughly 3/4 of max, but it’s never got to full, so I’m pretty certain it’s never got close to using mechanical brakes.

Front Park Assist not working on Uphill Gradient

I’ve found mine has been triggered by the slightest curb. Which is ridiculous. It means it’s beeping away like mad from the curb, so you wouldn’t get a warning if you were going to hit a post.

Do brake lights illuminate during auto-regen?

Oh and just in case anyone hasn’t discovered auto regen, press and hold the regen button for 1-2 seconds to enable it. Note the regen icon on the dash, it will flip to having a letter ‘A’ beside it. Hold the button too long (or too short!) and it will toggle back off again. Or change in your...

Do brake lights illuminate during auto-regen?

Thinking about this - I don’t know if auto regen uses the ACC radar (I suspect it does), or if it can get enough information from the front parking sensors to achieve this. Maybe some with without ACC could confirm if they still have auto regen?
