When reversing, passenger mirror adjusts automatically.... and points to the sky

The mirror is supposed to adjust downward when reversing but it actually points upwards. I can't figure out any way to fix or adjust it. I tried adjusting it while I was in reverse but it didn't seem to take hold as the new "reversing" position. Anyone ever had this happen or have any ideas? For now I had to disable it.

Have you tried adjusting the mirror when it's in reverse, i.e. repoint it from the sky to the curb, when it's in reverse?

Yes I did, but it's not saving. I even tried setting the memory while I was in reverse but it seemed to have no effect.


Here is a video. First long beep is when I put it in reverse. Second long beep is when I put it in drive.

I was able to resolve this after a couple more tries. I put the car in reverse, then adjusted the passenger mirror, then clicked onto the driver mirror adjustment mode and then back to the passenger mirror adjustment mode and then put the car in park and then waited until the mirror went back to the normal driving position.

I'm not sure what parts of that were different or correct but this time it seemed to save. When I put the car back in reverse the mirror tilted down to the position I had set.
