Quick question.

On both my front discs, im experiencing light rust on the outer rim, id say the 1st 1cm or so of the disc.

Im assuming the pads aren't contacting this part of the disc.

Porsche had a look at it when I was having updates and recalls done, and said the pads aren't adjustable and essentially not to worry.

The rear discs are totally clear of rust.

Was just wondering if anyone else has had this?

I've used the brake cleaning setting, but not sure it helped.

The car has done less than 2500 miles.

Cheers

Unfortunately I can’t post pics because I am not next to a car, but I experience the same.
I have PSCB disc and I’m not really happy that last 1cm of outer surface disc is rusting. And this is only on the front end.

Most EVs have damaged brake discs because debris get between the discs and pads. My rear looks really ugly because of stone scratches.

Cast Iron discs rust on all surfaces not rubbed by the pad.
At your low mileage and with regenerative braking it is probable the front pads haven't bedded in all over yet.

Nothing to worry about IMO.

Looks perfectly fine, as f1eng mentioned. And it looks like it's also just surface rust, so driving it a bit harder, aka actually engaging the brakes and not just the regen brake, should heat them up and the rust will fall.

What type of discs do you have?
Why would EVs suffer more from debris between pad and disc?

Is this setting new to MY25, or have I missed it?

Thanks for the feedback.

Ill be driving alot more regularly, as going back to work, so I'll make sure to give it some proper weight on the brake pedal.

I have attempted to a few times, maybe ive been too delicate.

I tried even that, but there wasn’t any difference. I really think that there on the edge the brake pad and brake disc are not in contact.
I’m not sure if this is normal?

Dear all, this is how it looks like…

My front PSCBs are similar.
The outer edge look similar to yours surfaces. But the surface there is just as smooth as the area where the pad makes contact. The dealer has just replaced the rears because one of inner surface coatings had delaminated. But they said the fronts were ok.
