Ceramic disc damage

My Taycan is in for 22kw charger replacement. they phoned and said there is a crack in on of the ceramic brake discs which needs replacing - £5400. they think most likely stone damage. Any one had any success claiming from your insurance company for this as it is not wear and tear (which on initial enquiry Admiral said it was and therefore not covered). Have put a claim in and will wait to see what happens.

It is a wear and tear item that got damaged by an accident with a stone. It should be covered. Seems like the helpdesk employee at Admiral followed the script a little too strict when the word break disk was used. Try to escalate, I'm sure it is covered. Things like these is what insurance is for.

Did you get the 22kW OBC actually? Wondering, or did they offer you a 11 kW replacement?
Apparently, there are no new 22 kW chargers around anymore.

11kw. Trying to negotiate compensation above cost of option. Might need it to cover the ceramic disc

Be glad if they can replace only one disc, because these things are often replaced in pairs. I got the same diagnosis because of small chip in the edge of the disc, single disc costing 9300Eur. Second time they have to replace a disc in my car in the past 2 years, and it's not like I'm off roading with this car.
