Chargers M5/M6 / to Ormskirk

we are heading up north later in the week and would appreciate any advice on fast chargers on or near M5 /M6 to reduce our range anxiety. Thanks in advance.

New site on m5 junction 1... Well about 300 yards towards West Bromwich. . Ionity so cheap. Has Starbucks next door. Used it last week and there are 6 fast chargers.

If you have the time and inclination to eat in one of the highest-rated restaurants in the country, it has a (solitary?) Porsche Destination charger- Moor Hall in Aughton (within 2 miles of Ormskirk and just off the M58).

I was thinking more of the lunch at around £50pp.
I still recommend the full evening tasting menu experience for an exceptional treat, though not one after which I could tackle a full breakfast the next morning. It's only a short drive down the M6, and as I stopped enjoying alcohol years ago, my visits haven't explored the full potential to lighten my wallet. Anyway, the head chef and partner is apparently a fellow Taycan owner, so it all goes to a good cause?

Thanks - Lunch sounds better but £115 each !! Love my food but sadly on this trip a Waitrose meal deal is all we will have time for!

They have some fast grid serve machines, which i only noticed after filling up at some less fast ones. Doh.

There are a few options north of Brum. We do the Rugby to Jockland route a lot so these are well tried and tested.
First up is Ionity on the north side of Stafford (M6). Just off the motorway. 6 * 350kW chargers on a Starbucks site. Usually very busy but nice and cheap.
Next up is Sandbach services (southbound only). 6 * Gridserve 350kW charges. This time of year they have been empty when we have been.
Finally, there are 8* 150kW chargers (MFG) at Crow Orchard at the Standish turnoff of M6 - but that may be a bit off course. May be ok if your destination is more Burscough rather than Ormskirk. There is usually lots of chargers free here.
Going north therefore I would try Ionity Stafford if you need power and go on to Crow Orchard if too busy (and do the detour). On the way back, stop at Sandbach.

Many thanks! That’s really helpful. Assuming a 200 mile range Think we will try to top up at West Brom on way up then Standish to fill up. Destination is Rufford and Burscough so may well then be able to stop at Porsche Tewkesbury on way back for a decent coffee and to admire the scenery. Thanks again all!!

Geographical matters, anything north of the M4 is NORTH south of the M62 is SOUTH.

Think you are wrong on that one! Anything north of the M4 is clearly NORTH and requires coats, bobble hats and an interpreter. ? Let’s all hope our Taycan heaters don’t pack up this year!
