I also specced Sports Chrono for the knob and sportier looking steering wheel. It seems thicker overall, and has those two thicker grips at 10 & 2, the other one just looks a bit plain and thin.

What could also be a deciding factor (and what I haven't read here) is if you picked extended leather or not. IMHO if you haven't you need the clock to spice up the dash, or it will look like a bare bone no options Taycan. With the leather dashboard it's nice enough on its own. Just my 2 cents..

get it. I don't give a shit about the additional modes but going into the PCM to swap to and from Range is a pain in the ass

I think the solution there is to just not drive in range mode. 🤣

it makes a difference. i managed to keep the car in range mode at 75 mph for a 50 mile stretch of highway on I5 last week. my consumption in range mode was over 10 percent less than in normal mode.

I was mind blown. The rear axle decoupling really does a lot

I have a hard time believing the rear axle mechanical decoupling makes a significant difference. I don’t believe it’s a significant resistive force relative to everything else.

It would be interesting to see a RWD and AWD do a trip together in normal and then again in range and compare the difference between each car’s mode consumption difference.

Yes, take it. Otherwise switching between the modes would be a pain.

I got some recall updates done, so need to try again range mode.
