Has anyone from Florida bought an extended warranty from an out-of-state dealer such as Kelli from San Antonio? Any issues with that? I had heard there might be a fairly recent Florida law limiting out-of-state sales of extended warranties.

I'm not a Florida resident, but FWIW:
  • My signed agreement is apparently identical to others, and includes state specific amendments. For Florida it conspicuously states: "The Obligor of this Agreement is Safe-Guard Warranty Corporation, Florida License Number 60126, Two Concourse Parkway, Suite 500, Atlanta, GA 30328"
  • Florida state law § 634.031: A company issuing such agreements must be licensed in Florida.
  • While the seller is the dealer, the agreement is with Safe-Guard. Safe-Guard are apparently licensed in Florida (License Number 60126 - shows up on multiple dealership sites mentioning Safe-Guard).
Based on the above, you might encounter individual out-of-state dealers who decline to quote/sell to you, but it seems like it should be okay to purchase out of state since the agreement is with a Florida licensed entity. IANAL: You can send the Safe-Guard VSP agreement to your state attorney's office and explicitly ask them about this scenario.

If you want to play it safe, get a bunch of quotes from in-state and out of state, then pick a Florida dealer and leverage your best quotes to get an acceptable price from an in-state dealer.

Just purchased the 96 month/100,000 mile warranty from Kelli Porter at San Antonio Porsche today. I have a 2022 GTS with 18k miles in it currently. I paid the $6,417 which was the best price I could find by far. $1500 per year for the next 4 years is cheap piece of mind.

I got a quote from SOS Auto Protect for 5 years at $3945, $0 deductible and no cap. But it is known mainly as a regular car warranty insurance. I am not sure how they would cover the EV parts and labor.
XCare is $5270 for 4 years , $500 Deductible with cap on the value of the car at time of plan purchase. XCare specializes in EV and has a pretty good reputation amongst EV enthusiastes.
Which would you choose?

For what it’s worth my plan is to hold onto the car for a while so that I can evaluate the new Gen 2 version of the Taycan.
I wonder when the 8 year HV battery warranty expires for the Gen1 Battery, what would they do when our battery needs repair or replacement. Would they still have the Gen1 battery cells/parts available? How would the pricing be? Would they just replace it with a new Gen2 battery? Sometimes, expired component stock actually becomes higher since the availability will be limited.

I have a 2020 Turbo that has 2 year CPO ending on 9/8/2026. I really like the car and want to add three / four more years of coverage but not sure who to go with Kellli San Antonio/a Fidelity warranty/ex care, etc..

Manufacturers typically keep parts to service cars for 10+ years minimum.

Gen 2 battery is totally different.

Pricing is absurd on a battery replacement. And to the point of these extended warranties- none of them cover the battery.

What you’d want is a recently manufactured battery for the gen 1.

Which is interesting to think about 10 years from now. Will they still be making them then? You wouldn’t want a battery that’s been sitting on the parts shelf for 10 years. Then again a 10 yr old Taycan will likely be worth less than a battery replacement cost, so it’ll go to the junk yard.

Can you still purchase Porsche CPO/Extended/VSC warranty before the existing CPO warranty expire? I was told the additional (On top of the used car 2 years CPO) VSC warranty can only be purchased at the time of purchase the used CPO vehicle.

With CPO vehicles, the CPO Plus extension (1–4 years with unlimited miles) is only available at the time of purchase. After that, as your original CPO coverage nears expiration, you still have options—specifically the Porsche Vehicle Service Protection (VSP) plan or a Fidelity Vehicle Service Contract (VSC).

I generally recommend waiting until right before your CPO expires to add one of these. That way, you avoid paying for overlapping coverage or an unnecessary inspection.
