Just got mine done, it was in the shop for 5 days. I swear my battery/range has significantly improved ?
On the meter, or actually miles on the ground vs charge kWh? Possibly the meter calculation was reset at the shop, and it will need to re-learn conditions.

Meter and miles to the ground, my guess is probably the warmer weather, but it definitely is a big difference.

My ‘22 Taycan GTS is scheduled to get the recall addressed tomorrow. I have seen some posts about how replacing the heater has lead to massive battery issues and subsequently lots of time in the shop. My car has had zero issues with its heater and zero issues with the battery. Do you guys think I still should get the recalled addressed and replace the heater even though it has been running perfect? Thanks in advance.
I received the same recall notice. They also want to do some software updates. I'm probably going to just go ahead and schedule an appointment. If something gets screwed up it will be on them to rectify it. If the car can't be reliably repaired, updated etc without major issues than honestly it's probably not a car I'd want to keep. I'm going to err on the side of trust..... for now :)

The heater is definitely playing a larger role than just heating the cabin - and it would be really nice if Porsche clarified this rather than downplaying its role.

1) it is the same heater that preconditions the battery. When mine broke in negative temperatures, the car at 350kw Ionity station won’t take more than 30kw/h
2) it plays a role in “energy balancing”. When the car is regenerating more energy than a battery can consume, this energy goes to the heater. When I had above 95% charge and broken heater, regeneration stopped working after the first attempt when the car realized it wasn’t able to discharge the generated energy. Now my heater is fixed and regeneration works (I mean the dial on dash and brake feeling) even if battery is 100% charged.
The sudden loss of regeneration led for a couple of hairy moments because the brake pedal feeling and travel without regen is verbal different.
3) I don’t know exactly what it means, but when my heater stopped working, the 12v battery would be showing 14v. When they fixed the heater (and when the old one was functioning) the dash always shows 13.5v for me.

maybe I am overthinking it a little, but I am reasonably sure that the heater is a part of a bigger picture. For example , would my 12v battery fail sooner because Porsche Assistance were driving my car for many hours with a broken heater on a higher than normal voltage?… who knows

You know now that you mention it my miles have increased a bit since my heater fix.
I thought I was just wishing but it has gone up since then. I'm glad you mentioned that. I don't doubt that the heater helps in other avenues.

I was wondering if this part of the heater system? I'm sure someone will know this answer
Thanks David

Quick note, the dealer just completed the heater recall/replacement on my car. So far no apparent issues (homelink still works, no car warnings).

Dealer just replaced mine as well. Picked it up yesterday. So far it only charged 20% last night and did not fully charge. Attributing this hopefully to the solar storm. We shall see today.

Sounds like they reset your profiles/timer.

Same here. Took it in for the HV recall and the PCM update. Massive improvement for the AC/HV and my range on a 85% charge jumped from 200 to 225 miles. I have the 93.6kw battery.

how long did it take to complete the recall? I've never gotten my vehicle back from Porsche within 1-2 days.
