Has anyone been able to obtain touch up paint for Mission E wheels? My dealer said it was Diamond Silver, code 8Z8, but could not order it. Sun Coast and others don’t have it either. I have the insurance protection, but they want to paint the entire wheel. Thanks.

I did some research, and this is a topic I know extremely well, and 8Z8 (L8Z8) is not actually called Diamond Silver. It is called Brilliant Silver and is used on multiple VAG brands as a wheel color. It is common for colors to have multiple names, so perhaps at some point Porsche referred to it as Diamond Silver, but I do have my doubts about that. It is nothing to do with a Mercedes color as stated above.

Porsche Diamond Silver is an older color not used past the early 1980's and not as a wheel color. It is code 97A as mentioned, but this is a different color than 8Z8. 97A is slightly darker and yellower than 8Z8.

That leaves the question, is the original information stating 8Z8 from the dealer correct? I suspect it is since the wheel color is a bright silver and that matches how 8Z8 looks.

If anyone wants to try 8Z8, PM me, I have access to the color in a touch up size.

I ended up using the brand Automotive Touchup 8Z8 for the silver section of the Mission E wheels on my 2021. The bottle says Audi 8Z8, but it matches.

Thanks for this. And I guess the black for spokes is L041 / A1 ?

Welcome - I didn’t have a need for the black, so unsure which number is correct.

What brand touch up did you get? Trying to find something online that won't take weeks to get.

BTW, your response is awesome! I did see a Mission E Wheel on a site for sale and it referred to the paint as "Brilliant Silver Metallic 8Z8", so you are spot on!!!!

The brand is Automotive Touchup (I know, it sounds generic!). Here is my order data since the information doesn't pull up for the Taycan wheels. It was a manual entry order - the sales rep helped me find it:

Well, I'm not here to self-promote, I have a Chalk GTS and I'm here for the info about Tacans. But I can tell you that I'm very closely tied to www.TouchUpDirect.com. We don't have 8Z8 on our website because we generally stay away from selling European car wheel colors (color tracking and data is a nightmare). But since it came up on this forum, I did the research to figure out what was going on. And we do make and offer the color in any size, it's just a special order. If you want to know more, feel free to DM me, I'm happy to answer any questions.
