Finalising a CPO purchase - I'll start a separate thread with details, very exciting!

Sytner Porsche dealer is offering an "EMaC Cosmetic Repair plan" for £1800 for 3 years. All minor cosmetic treatments (up to 30cm in diameter) covered up to 10 times a year, and up to 4 free inspections a year. Scuffs, chips, minor dents etc.

Initially this sounded like a good deal as it was compared to bodyshop repair costs. However, this is starting to sound more like a SMART repair plan as true bodyshop repairs seem excluded, even though all the locations for repairs list their Porsche and Bentley bodyshop centres. Very confusing.

Anyone have any experience with this plan? Given it's OPC provided, presume it would help maintain my extended warranty in whereas a third party smart repair may not? Warranty exclusions state:

c) Service, repair, or maintenance has previously been performed on the Vehicle by you or a third party who is not an authorised Porsche Centre/Porsche Service Centre

I’d first ask for written confirmation from [email protected] that work by 3rd parties subcontracted by an insurance company engaged via an arrangement with an authorised Porsche Centre does not invalidate their Approved Warranty.
And from Sytner/their insurance company that all such repairs will be carried out by an Approved Porsche body repairer

Similarly it is also worth getting confirmation up front from your car insurance company that they will use a Porsche recommended repairer if a claim becomes necessary. Insurance companies are moving towards ‘in-house’ repairers, that won’t suit your warranty. You could ask your local approved repairer which insurance companies they have direct arrangements with and go with ‘one of theirs’. Approved repairers won’t do smart repairs that don’t meet ‘Porsche repair standards’.

https://www.emac.co.uk/who-we-serve/vehicle-manufacturers/. The Emac site says that manufacturers can set their own prices for it so I’m fairly sure Porsche will be far more than others.

I went with the wheel and tyre insurance - it was far more expensive than others but the coverage was better.

I would ask the dealer for a copy of the document that sets out the inclusions and exclusions.

Never been a fan of this type of insurance for Cosmetic repairs and £1800 seems a lot.

I've always found the wheel and tyre insurance beneficial but they didn't offer it to me this year. Had it on my X5 and managed to curb one of the 22"'s within the first 2 months and took a chunk out of the side wall - it paid for itself with that alone...
