Outdated navigation map?

My Taycan nav doesn’t have my local electric American charging station nor my local Porsche dealer in the nav data base. I suspect my maps are out dated. Is there a fix for this?

Are you actively subscribed to Porsche Connect Services - map updates are part of this?

Check rhat you have POIs displayed by default.

New charging locations can take a while to be listed but you can always Google search in NAV to find them.

I rarely (never?) use the Taycan navigation. Apple CarPlay for me - always.

Hi, check if your smartphone is connected to the car's Wi-Fi when the car is powered on and ready to drive.
I had an issue with the car not updating its' maps. Turned out to be some connection bugs between the car and the phone. When the Wi-Fi assosiation between them was cleared and enabled again, the car started to fetch map updates.

At least, it's an easy and quick thing to check out. Good luck.

I'm sorry but I doubt that this is the reason - there is 0% dependency on connectivity to your mobile phone. There problem relates to the PCM NAV (maps) which has its own independent cellular connection for all Porsche Connect services. This sounds more like a coincidence and never before reported on this forum in 4 years.

Phone to PCM connectivity is required for Calendar syncs, Contact syncs, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Opposite for me I almost never use Car Play

Part of the by-pass of the town centre here was completed (over 40 years after the first section) and opened here just before Christmas, it is shown as still incomplete on the Taycan map in the app, but maybe it will update next time I go on a long enough journey, I have hardly driven this month.
It shows on Apple maps.

We had something similar...........a road that we always use crosses train tracks. People complained and complained about the train holding up traffic and over 4+ years a bypass was constructed - huge monstrosity but it does eliminate waiting for the train. Anyhow.............Apple CarPlay took a few weeks to recognize the bypass once it was completed. On our next trip I might use Taycan navigation to see how it reacts...............it may think that I am taking a detour through the fields................?, or it may have updated. I am suspicious of the update though as I let my Porsche Connect lapse at the end of the 3 year free period.

Yes, might very well be a corner case. Porsche SmartMobility closed the ticket when I reported that the issue had been solved, so they did not provide more information to me. [But of course, a test could be to remove all assoiations between the PCM and the smartphone, and see if this has any effect on the different PCM services that we expect to run fine using the eSIM-connection].

For the OP, my advice should be pretty easy to check out.

Yes...................that is a fair point. But the Taycan is not our vehicle of choice for long trips. For trips that would require a stop for a charge we would use an ICE vehicle. I just don't want to be (1) stuck at a charger that does not work, or, works very slow, (b) waiting for 15-20 minutes for a charge, or, (c) stopping at all if within 400 miles (pretty much the longest distance that we will drive, otherwise taking a plane).

That really is a pity though the way thechatging networks are in the US. It is a US problem!
The Taycan ( when it works) is a lovely car to do long trips in. Comfortable, fast and very fast charging here in Europe. I have about 80 chargers with more than 200 kW in a 80 km radius from my home that I can use with my Porsche Charging subscription. And for long distance driving, there are 250+ kW chargers 50 km apart along the main routes.
