Has anyone with a 2026 or J1.2 encountered an issue where the PCM won’t load. Please see attached picture. I have tried shutting down the PCM several times. I have also tried shutting down the car, locking it walking away for several hours. Unfortunately, this model year does not have the two finger reset option. Trying to avoid going to the service center…
If this has happened to you,, were you able to resolve this on your own?

Thank you in advance!

The image is not loading for me, I just see a spinner.

Sorry very bad joke. There is not two finger reset on yours (too new), you coulf try:
- leaving the car for a couple of hours
- disconnect 12v battery to force a reboot

It doesn’t need to be a couple of hours.

Lock it and take the key 15m+ away from the car for 15mins+

Porsche removed two finger reboot on J1.2 PCM.
This happened to me once, although the PCM won't load, but backup camera still works.

I've been having my own issues with the PCM/Bluetooth the last month, finally got annoyed enough to schedule a dealership visit. They said there's no troubleshooting steps I can go through besides bringing it in.

So, you gotta bring it in.

When that used to happen in my J1.1 (knock on wood, haven't seen it in few months), the 2 finger reboot never helped. It just came right back to the Porsche logo splash-screen. You could tell everything under the splash-screen was actually functional, you just cannot see it, except for backup camera. You can also operate the PCM using voice commands (though telling it to show you the screen, or take away the logo/splash-screen, complete startup, or a myriad other combinations I once tried to get the PCM to work is of course an exercise in futility - always a unrecognized command, or worse, it does something completely different).

Too much complexity in software nowadays, too many levels of abstraction, leading to inability to test thoroughly. None of the developers know the whole stack, so nobody to even figure out how the different components interacting with each other could just get stuck.

Oh, you can actually operate it even with your finger, despite it being "stuck" / off / on loading.

It still works like that. If you go in settings and turn off the display, any of them, they still fully work... all touch functions, the full software and buttons behind it.

The display being stuck in any way, or off, doesn't actually have any relevance on the touchscreen part and the PCM software. If you would ask a dev to develop this behavior intentionally, he'd probably sturggle, yet porsche surprises every time 😂 in a bad way.

Well, that's new. I never used it, but always assumes screen off option is to that you can clean the screen without triggering random touch events.

Had it happen once. What worked was in the center display press the hamburger menu so that the icons pop up that would be on the left of the main display. Then press for example the button for the radio, then it came back.

If I remember correctly from other threads -- The 2025 J1.2 has basically the same PCM hardware as J1.1, and then for 2026 it was refreshed to something slightly better.
I have 2025 J1.2 and flakey CarPlay connection, but never screen going totally out.
And the two finger reset thing probably didn't go away, it just moved to some other gesture/procedure and the forum has not learned what that new gesture is yet.

had it, nothing on the lock-unlock side worked. Randomly pressed the music button on the lower touch panel and the whole thing just came back to life like nothing happened.

So tap one of the quick access menu buttons on the lower touchscreen

Thank you everyone for your suggestions! I tried everything that correlated with what I’m seeing on my end. Unfortunately, I got no response from the car and brought it in only to be turned away and told it would take 2-3 days to look at and no loaners were available - have to reschedule. Got back in the car to leave and voila, it magically was working again.

Going to keep my key in a faraday pouch from now on so it gets a better night’s sleep. 😵💫

I'd still make an appt and have them check it out. Just because it's working now doesn't mean it won't become troublesome again 3 days from now. Document your issues as best as possible to help your tech better understand the situation, especially because machines love to magically work when IT comes to check on them, as we all know.
