^ Although we still have a few years left in 2024, this post is definitely a strong candidate for Post of the Year for mentioning the Phaeton. (In addition to everything else about that model, I still don't understand the corporate decision making behind having the VW subsidiary produce a direct competitor to the Audi subsidiary A8 at the price of the A6.)

There are far better track cars to buy other than Porsche but they have the luxury market customers & wannabe race car drivers sold, lock, stock & barrel.
Porsche gives me plenty to like where I have no interest in Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc.
They have the recipe for what is important to me which is why I keep coming back…
Of the current top 10 fastest lap times by production cars at Nurburgring, 6 are Porsches. Yes they do build them for the track.

Always pull way the heck off the road, even if you sacrifice the tire. Period. AAA should be your go-to. Plug by the side of the road is bad. If you chose to screw on the inflator, shake the can vigorously, and when engaged expect some spray onto your shoes or pants, and screw on the inflator very tightly by hand and without hesitation.

I picked up a screw in my right rear tire a few years ago and wound up on the side of I-580 in Carson City with a flat. It was 20 degrees F and snowing. I followed the directions with the liquid sealant and all it did was help me find the hole - which is where the liquid came out.

I carry a plug kit, so I plugged the tire. I had to move the car to get the hole in an accessible location and then plugging was easy. Two years and 10,000 miles later the plus is still in there. I haven't bothered to get it patched.
I would have called AAA, but kudos to you. I know that road in the snow.

We had a 2nd flat on our Macan EV turbo (just 600 miles after the right rear tire had already been replaced by our dealership due to a large nail sticking out of it), with our second nail in that tire being smaller and right in the tread center, but the dealership still told us we then needed a “2nd new tire.” Instead we went to our local tire dealership and it got a patch-n-plug (successfully for the last 3,000 miles).

Think Porsche’s policy is always for tire replacement regardless of circumstances.
