I’m looking to replace my 20inch Turbo Aeros on my RWD with 21 inch Vossen HF-5s. I dislike the Turbo Aeros and also think the Vossens look much better in 21 v 20inch.

My Vossen dealer is suggesting the following setup:

255/40 (21x9.5) front
295/35 (21x11) rear
Michelin Pilot Sport AS (I asked for an all season tire)

We could also do the standard 265/35 (21x9.5) front and 305/30 (21x11.5) but I would need to find a different tire and the cost would be higher. I’ve also read that the 305 is a bit too much tire for an EV and the proposed setup would be just fine (middle ground) and allow for the option to use the Michelin PS tire as well as any factory tire (in the future).

I guess I’m trying to figure out if (a) any fellow members see any issue with the proposed setup? (b) if anyone has the proposed setup and/or went with something similar (ie. Different than the standard)?

If you like the quietness and comfort of the 20 inches then stay there. If you don’t care about potential rim bent on pot holes and the disadvantages I mentioned above then 21 is for you.
Here are my 20 inches hf5 for reference. Yes they looks better on 21.
I think your tires compromise is good.

Thanks for the feedback.
I’m going to consider 20s as a compromise. I can still replace my current wheels with the Vossens, go with 20s v 21s, and not have to worry as much about potholes.

are you able to share the details on your Vossen setup (Eg. 255/40/20 x 9) for front and rear?
