Repurchase or keep the car with incentives

My Taycan was purchased Dec last year and it stays in local dealership for more than a month. It triggers the Lemon law and Porsche North America gives me two options:

• Repurchase this car back with full sale price
• Keep the vehicle ownership with some incentives for inconvenience

Does anyone has such experience before with Porsche and which way I should go? I appreciate anyone that can share their similar experience with me.

Tough choice in this market. Normally I'd say repurchase all the way, just given that the lemon history (if not on the title, at least will appear on service records in Carfax I think) would depreciate the car more than one without issues

But given the crazy market and difficulty of getting another car quickly at MSRP (if that's what you paid) would make me think twice.

Depends how nice the incentives are, and what the issue was IMO

I was faced with a similar decision. If you take the incentive and keep it, and the original issue still goes unresolved or you experience another >30 day service period (California) you can still claim lemon law. The incentive that was paid is then subtracted upon exercising repurchase the next go around. Taking the incentive does not cause the title to get branded.

If there wasn't such a backlog in new orders the repurchase maybe the best move. I went with incentive based on really liking the car and not wanting to figure out another new car purchase in this crazy market. Still working with dealer to resolve the original issue.

The car was first alarmed by power steering rack and fixed in the dealer. Then tail lights were not on. Now the car was in dealership for more than 30 days which triggers the lemon law. The part ETA is unknown now.

That's my major concern since if I toke the repurchase option, I couldn't get the same car with the same price based on current market. Plus the wait time is more than half a year. It's a touch option and incentive is less than 15% of sale price of the car.

Are you saying that the issue is not that they can't fix it, the issue is they can't get the part to fix it? If you like the car, given the current market, I'd opt to keep the car. Are they able to give you a loaner in the meantime?

Yes, I got the Cayenne as the loaner car.

...seems like once a lemon, it will always be a lemon. And every time something goes wrong, even the tiniest squeak, will make you think if it is a real issue or something imagined. I would turn the car in , go for the repurchase....

But of course a personal decision. Since you have a loaner, not a bad call to just wait for them to fix things and hope for the best

Work it through with PCNA. You'll find they will layout the options fairly (IMO). And sign you to a confidentiality agreement as you execute your choice.

Do you negotiate the incentive with them back and forth to get better deal?
