Hi all. Ive posted before about my squeaking struts and dealer reluctance to do anything, however, they managed to improve them somewhat. Had similar issues with the door handles.
So, I had some time today and managed to improve both, as follows.
1. Struts - applied silicone lubricant spray (nozzle) at the top of the gap between the protective covers. Then left the hatch open for an hour so it could migrate under gravity. This worked (as in improved/removed the squeaking) for both struts.
2. After applying silicon grease and having limited success, only when I applied silicon spray on top of the plastic attachment to the handles did it make a positive difference. Again, it has reduced significantly rather than eliminated.

Now I appreciate these may need redoing frequently due to the nature of the lubricant, but if it works repeatedly I can at least do something myself.
Let me know how you get on. I’ve attached a couple of pics for clarity.

Nice! I'll give the silicon spray a go on my hatch struts. I've used white lithium grease before but it's thicker and not easy to get it to where it needs to be in that tiny gap between the protective plastic cover and the strut.
